The Chicago Union are seeking a passionate, organized, and creative Master of Ceremonies to help elevate the overall entertainment and fan experience at Union home games. This role focuses on the behind the scenes coordination and execution of the full gameday show experience, helping ensure all entertainment, activations, and presentations run smoothly and professionally. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail oriented, creative under pressure, and passionate about live sports and event entertainment. Experience in live event production, sports operations, theater, concerts, or entertainment coordination is strongly preferred. The Master of Ceremonies will report directly to the Gameday Manager and Assistant General Manager and work closely with the Onfield Gameday Host/Emcee, PA Announcer, DJ, production staff, sponsors, performers, and gameday operations crew.
All Chicago Union home games are played at ETHS’s Lazier Field in Evanston, IL. Local candidates are strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

The Master of Ceremonies / Gameday Production Coordinator will oversee and coordinate the flow of all fan-facing entertainment and production elements during Union home games, including:
  • Coordinating the overall gameday entertainment timeline and run of show
  • Managing communication between the PA announcer, DJ, Host/Emcee, and gameday staff
  • Coordinating sponsor activations, contests, and on-field promotions
  • Assisting with music timing and entertainment flow throughout the game
  • Coordinating pregame ceremonies, halftime performances, opening pulls, and postgame activities
  • Helping develop new gameday themes, entertainment concepts, and fan engagement ideas throughout the season
  • Assisting with writing, editing, and reviewing PA scripts, emcee reads, sponsor announcements, and gameday timelines
  • Troubleshooting live event issues in a fast paced environment
  • Ensuring all entertainment elements stay on schedule during the event

Job Qualifications

  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to multitask and remain calm in a live event environment
  • Passion for sports, entertainment, fan engagement, and live productions
  • Comfortable leading and coordinating groups of staff and volunteers
  • Ability to think quickly and problem solve under pressure
  • Experience with live event production, sports entertainment, theater, concerts, or broadcasting is preferred
  • Knowledge of audio, music, microphones, or production systems is a plus
  • Experience creating run of show documents or event timelines is preferred
  • Schedule - the MC / Gameday Production Coordinator is expected to work all Chicago Union home games and arrive approximately 1-1.5 hours before the opening pull for setup and gameday coordination.

  • Sunday, July 5th at 4pm vs. Indianapolis AlleyCats
  • Friday, July 10th at 7pm vs. New York Empire
  • Saturday, July 18th at 6pm vs. Pittsburgh Thunderbirds
Optional playoff dates may include June 24th–26th and August 7th–9th, depending on team qualification and hosting.
This is a paid role. Compensation will be determined based on previous experience and qualifications.
