The Assistant General Manager will be responsible primarily for the overall fan experience at our gamedays, including:
  • Planning and executing themes for each game
  • Booking bands, face painters, balloon artists, and entertainment for each game
  • Writing the PA script and videoboard script
  • Interviewing, hiring, and managing staff for gameday and team operations
  • Maintaining and updating staff training methods and plan
  • Assist with the implementation and execution of partner contractual elements including but not limited to, in-stadium activations, digital & social media campaigns, print media, hospitality, consumer promotions, community programs, events etc.
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with community groups that become champions for our events

The Assistant General Manager will also be heavily involved in:

  • Ticket Sales and prospecting
  • Sponsorship Sales
  • Planning and running superb events throughout the year, including our tryouts, practices, Training Camp Weekend, overnight tournaments, leagues, youth camps and clinics, and others.
  • Content creation and management/oversight, including video storytelling, social media, graphic design, and written articles
  • Developing and managing our Internship Program
  • Interfacing with Media & the Public
  • Building relationships with Community Organizations 
  • Frequent ad-hoc projects and requests from Team Ownership and the General Manager
  • Assisting with additional duties and tasks as assigned, including varied in-season operational roles
  • Assisting with sponsor and event contracts and invoicing.

Knowledge, skills, abilities

  • Availability to work all Union events
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
  • Previous experience in project and event management required
  • Previous experience in sales and/or service preferred
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to provide vision and direction
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Ability to multi‐task, prioritize workload and time manage
  • Strong written, verbal and listening communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to effectively interact with all levels of management, business partners, board members, guests, attendees, and fans
  • Must display the ability to be resourceful with internal assets
  • Ability to think creatively and adapt to quick changes/requests 
  • Self‐ motivated, ability to take initiative and learn
  • Proficient in the Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, etc)
  • Enthusiastic team player, shows enjoyment and interest in working collaboratively
