General Purpose:
USA Wrestling is seeking a highly organized, customer-focused person with experience at the state association and/or club level to develop and implement programs designed to advance the professionalism and effectiveness of our state associations, chartered clubs, Wrestling leader members, and officials. This role reports to the Director of State Services. The ideal candidate thrives in fast-paced environments, is an excellent collaborator, demonstrates the ability to bring people together around common goals, and has experience as a compassionate customer service representative. The ideal candidate will also be available for significant travel to state association events to develop relationships and lead in-person training and collaboration sessions. 

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Serve as USA Wrestling’s primary liaison to club leaders and administrators, including developing resources and providing support for establishing and running a USA Wrestling chartered club.
  • Create new and updated resources and curriculum for education and training of various groups of USA Wrestling stakeholders. 
  • Develop and manage partnerships with constituent groups with a goal towards improving and increasing resources available to USA Wrestling leaders working with varying constituent groups (i.e. age groups, different genders, different roles, etc.)

Other Responsibilities:
  • Develop and deliver in-person education clinics across the country through direct interaction with state and club leaders in their home environments, providing real-time feedback while receiving input and feedback at the same time.
  • Establish yourself as a highly visible resource for key USA Wrestling constituents by attending annual meetings for coaches councils, grassroots events and national championships, as well as any state and national conventions or other similar events.
  • Lead hands-on developmental sessions for coaches and club leaders at their events, meetings, and conventions. 
  • Serve as coaches council liaison, plan and execute committee calls, manage all Wrestling Leader member and chartered club governance issues.
  • Collaborate with officials manager with in person and webinar continuing education initiatives. 
  • Provide live customer service support to Wrestling Leader members and chartered club directors.
  • Develop and manage USA Wrestling’s required certification processes. 
  • Develop and manage key performance indicators for evolution, deployment and adoption of continuing education curriculum for various groups of USA Wrestling stakeholders.
  • The customer service aspect of this position will require daily, time-sensitive, and ongoing collaboration with other stakeholders, including the USA Wrestling State Services team, the Manager of Officials Development Program and the USA Bracketing Support Manager.
 
Qualifications:
  • Required:
    • Experience in the sport of wrestling as a wrestler, coach and or administrator. 
    • Demonstrated experience developing new curriculums.
    • Ability to collaborate with a wide variety of constituents in varying arenas. 
    • Demonstrated experience presenting effectively in large and small groups.
    • Possess excellent public speaking skills and be effective in various settings educating and training various USA Wrestling stakeholders. 
    • Be an outgoing, charismatic leader who excels in large and small group settings developing relationships while creating bonds that unify the USA Wrestling community. 
  • Preferred:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Sports Administration, Sports Management, Education or a related field is preferred. 
    • 3+ years of relevant experience in USA Wrestling State Association or club leadership.
    • Demonstrated experience in a customer service role.
    • Strong organizational skills and exceptional time-management abilities, with the capacity to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines under pressure.
    • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills.
    • Proactive, reliable, punctual, and customer-focused with a positive, "can-do" attitude.
       
Travel Requirements:
This role currently involves approximately 7-8 domestic trips per year, including weekends and occasional late evenings. The successful applicant will also hold a valid U.S. passport and be available for occasional international travel as the need arises. 
 
Hiring Pay Range:
Compensation commensurate with experience.
$65,000 - $78,000 annually.

Location & Work Environment:
This in-office position is based out of USA Wrestling’s Colorado Springs, Colorado office, when not traveling for events.
