Contractor Scope of Work
USA Weightlifting is seeking a part-time National Team Program Coach in an Independent Contractor role. This position is one of several National Team coaches, working under the direction of Head Coach and Senior Director of Sport Performance Mike Gattone. The position is fully remote and will require periodic domestic and international travel.
- Provide regular consultations for athletes in the National Team Program, their personal coaches, and other athletes assigned by USA Weightlifting.
- Support National Team Program activities such as athlete testing or visits.
- Provide coaching at designated USAW international events.
- Attend and coach at National Team Program camps.
- Participate in planning and operational meetings with Senior Director of Sport Performance, other National Team coaches, and USAW headquarters team members as required.
Qualifications
- Current USA Weightlifting Coach Membership
- Current SafeSport and USADA training courses
- Successful completion of a background check
- Strong background coaching the sport of Weightlifting
- Experience in Strength & Conditioning or Sports Science preferred
DETAILS:
Compensation: $1,000 per month
Time commitment: Part-time (anticipated up to 20 hours/month)
Term begins: October 19, 2025 and runs through December 31, 2026

KEY REQUIREMENTS AND CHARACTERISTICS:
- Ability to work as part of a high performing team
- Ability to understand team culture, programs, and policies
- Great communication skills
- Understanding and basic skills in Microsoft Office software
- Ability to communicate during office hours, and in non-traditional working times as required by the position
- Willingness to travel and lead groups
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
- Coaching within a USAW club
- Programming, technical coaching, and team administration of weightlifters
- National and international competition experience
- USAW L2 Coach or above
