Overview:
USA Water Polo internships provide training for the benefit of students interested in Olympic
sports and non-profit sports management and administration. Interns will receive college credit as
these are unpaid positions
The candidate(s) will provide administrative support to the Membership Department with an emphasis on
customer service. This role includes, but is not limited to, timely response to member service
requests via phone, email, or live chat, assistance with membership compliance, membership
program support, and general administrative work. This individual is on the front lines of USA Water
Polo, and shall strive to provide professional, high-level customer service within the organization.
Duties and Responsibilities:
● Interact with members and potential members via Zendesk, phone, and/or email to provide
information, troubleshoot, and answer inquiries regarding USA Water Polo’s database,
events, products, services, and other online support.
● Responsible for promptly answering member questions via phone and/or e-mail. As well as
general administrative assistance in the day-to-day tasks.
● Assist with the Academic All-American program. This includes responding to emails,
grading transcripts, and data input.
● Assists with the National Award nomination process and recognition programs.
Skills and Specifications
● Striving for a bachelor’s degree or a higher level of education that requires internship hours
fulfilled. Willingness to work for class credit only, this is a non-paying internship
● Excellent customer service skills, maintaining professional demeanor and exceptional
interpersonal skills.
● Team player with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize to
effectively meet deadlines.
● Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
● Proficient in Microsoft office suite and or Google suites.
● Familiarity with the sports industry and water polo is a plus, but not required.
● Experience working with database management systems is a plus, but not required.
● CPR certified a plus.
● The candidate(s) can be flexible with availability, willing to work weekends, nights, and
holidays.
