Position Summary
The Regional Engagement Coordinator serves as a front-line representative of USA Triathlon (USAT), ensuring that USAT creates a premium experience for all our constituents providing value to their affiliation with USAT while inspiring and connecting the triathlon community to the organization and to each other. The role focuses on generating measurable growth and meaningful value for race directors, coaches, clubs and events within the USA Triathlon ecosystem.
Essential Job Functions
Event Acquisition, Retention and Engagement (60%)
- Identify and secure new sanctioned events within a geographic region.
- Provide exceptional customer service and relationship management to maintain and grow existing sanctioned events.
- Connect new race directors with consultant staff and recommend resources available to help improve business operations
- Support race directors with sanctioning, certification, and operational needs to ensure safe, successful events.
- Act as a liaison between grassroots stakeholders (coaches, clubs, community partners) and national staff to share insights, needs, and opportunities.
Event Presence & Brand Building (25%)
- Attend and support select grassroots and regional events as on-site USAT staff, achieving engagement targets such as athlete touchpoints, brand activations and lead captures.
- Provide athlete engagement opportunities, brand education, and membership support at events.
- Promote USA Triathlon’s mission, programs, and resources to strengthen awareness and affinity.
Operational & Administrative (15%)
- Maintain accurate and timely reporting on event acquisition, retention, and engagement KPIs.
- Consistently achieve or exceed assigned performance metrics across all functional areas.
- Track event acquisition, retention, and growth metrics within the assigned region.
- Collaborate with national staff on strategic initiatives, marketing campaigns, and membership activations
Supervisory Responsibilities
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Outgoing personality with the ability to help recruit new key constituents for the organization
- Knowledge of the sport of triathlon is helpful, but not required
- Computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications
- Strong communication skills – both written and verbal
- Attention to detail
- Ability to manage and complete multiple assignments at the same time, with high quality
- Ability to travel, and withstand long event days
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment as part of a team atmosphere, including effective coordination with other business units
- Experience with customer service, CRM software and marketing tools a plus
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required
- 2-4 years of related experience including sales, marketing or other outbound growth
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements
- USA Triathlon offers a hybrid work schedule and requires this position to be on site at USAT headquarters in Colorado Springs, CO at least two days per week
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be regularly required to stand, sit, talk, hear, reach, stoop, kneel, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer, telephone, and keyboard. The employee may be required to exert force to manipulate or move items weighing up to 30 pounds.
