Job Title: Accounting Coordinator
FLSA Status: Non-exempt
Pay Range: $21.63 - 23.07 per hour
Reports To: Controller
 
Position Summary 
The Accounting Coordinator ensures that the office suite operates smoothly and efficiently and manages a variety of accounting processes under the direction of the Controller. Assists the Finance team in monthly close and reconciliation processes. This position serves as a liaison to internal departments for monthly financial statement reviews, forecasting and budgeting. The Coordinator helps to improve organizational procedures and proactively supports the leadership team.
 
Essential Job Functions
·         Responsible for maintaining accounts payable (AP) vendor profiles with accurate and timely payment processing; Review invoices and process payments to include ACH, wire and checks.
·         Prepares monthly postings of travel and credit card activity via Expensify.
·         Prepares monthly journal entries and account reconciliation related to AP.
·         Responsible for federal 1099 distribution and filing in compliance with IRS regulations; Assist in completion of audit and 990, including year-end AP accruals.
·         Proactively identifies opportunities for process improvement, automation, and integration.
·         Responsible for issuing invoices, documenting and processing Accounts Receivable (A/R) payments, and generating A/R aging.
·         Manages all in-coming and out-going mail and parcels.
·         Keeps common space, conference rooms, and kitchen supplies stocked and organized. Identifies and arranges necessary repairs and maintenance of facility and office equipment.
·         Provides general administrative support to the Finance team.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
·         Ability to work in a team environment including effective coordination with other business units
·         Working knowledge of MS Office products and general ledger/finance software; knowledge of Expensify software preferred
·         Strong organizational skills; ability to multi-task and prioritize efficiently
·         Excellent verbal and written communication skills
·         Superb customer service skills with an ability to deescalate conflict

Qualifications
·         High school diploma, or equivalent, required; Associate’s degree in finance or accounting, or a related field, preferred
·         One to three years experience working in accounts payable, accounts receivable, and/or other finance-related field required
·         Experience in customer service preferred

·         Must be able to lift up to 20lbs 
·         Some evening and/or weekend work, as needed
