BASIC FUNCTION
Provide legal and administrative support across all USATF departments while managing the day-to-day operations of the Legal Department. Prepare, review, and administer legal documents, support corporate governance and compliance activities, and assist with legal projects that advance the organization's business objectives.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Draft, review, negotiate, and manage a variety of contracts, agreements, and legal correspondence.
- Prepare, edit, and maintain legal and corporate documents in accordance with organizational standards.
- Support the full contract lifecycle, including drafting, review, execution, tracking, and record management.
- Draft and maintain corporate policies, governance documents, and related legal materials.
- Develop and improve departmental procedures to enhance efficiency and workflow.
- Conduct legal research and analyze legal documents, regulations, and related materials.
- Prepare visa letters, athlete transfer documents, and other eligibility-related documentation.
- Support USATF's SafeSport program and related compliance initiatives.
- Assist with corporate registrations, annual filings, and renewals.
- Provide administrative and project support to designated volunteer committees.
- Manage special projects and perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree required; Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school preferred.
- Three to five years of experience supporting attorneys in a corporate legal environment with a high-volume workload.
- Strong knowledge of contracts, corporate legal documents, and legal administrative processes.
- Excellent organizational, time management, and prioritization skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
- Ability to research, analyze, interpret, and apply legal, regulatory, and business information.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to prepare professional correspondence, reports, and policies.
- Ability to exercise sound judgment, maintain strict confidentiality, and handle sensitive information with discretion.
- Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and adaptable in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint).
- Experience with contract lifecycle management (CLM) or contract management software preferred.
- Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with internal and external stakeholders at all organizational levels.
- Must successfully pass a background check and drug screening.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Primarily sedentary position requiring prolonged sitting (more than six hours per workday).
- Occasional lifting, bending, and filing.
NON-PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Ability to manage multiple competing priorities and deadlines.
- Travel approximately two to three times per year, including occasional weekend travel.
