High Performance Programs Coordinator, Elite Competition

Event Management: Event Operations/Management
BASIC FUNCTION:  Execution of World Athletics Calendar programs, manage implementation of WA technical requirements, elite competition management

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
World Athletics Requirements (45%)
  • Manage day-to-day oversight of World Athletics Global Calendar platform 
  • Proactively communicate with NCAA coaches/meets to grow number of collegiate meets on global calendar 
  • Assist Associate Director, High Performance Programs with growth of World Athletics Continental Tour meet process 
  • Serve as resource for meet directors to understand World Athletics and USATF meet requirements 
Technical Expertise (20%) 
  • Assist Associate Director, Championships & Programs with implementation of new WA facility requirements and management of record processes 
  • Develop educational materials for meet directors and coaches to better understand new WA and USATF requirements 
  • Serve as HP liaison to IT and Events for management of registration system and results database  
 Competition Management (25%) 
  • Oversee entry, declarations and seeding for U.S. Olympic Team Trials, USATF Senior, U20 & Indoor Championships. 
  • Provide oversight of the timing/results processes at U.S. Olympic Team Trials, USATF Senior, U20 & Indoor Championships. 
  • Assist HP staff with development of schedules for elite competitions, including National Championships ·       Serve as Technical Leader at select USATF international teams events. 
Administrative (10%) 
  • Assist with management of Sport Committees, Rules Committee, Records Committee, and meet management 
  • Oversee expenses and financial transactions for WA Calendar and meet management
  • Other duties as assigned  
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Track and Field meet management experience, including working knowledge of Hy-Tek 
  • 1-3 years meet management, coaching experience, and/or program management experience at the collegiate, National Governing Body, professional, collegiate, or elite high school level 
  • Must possess strong interpersonal and collaborative skills, personal integrity and the ability to work effectively with a diverse population including, but not limited to, USATF and USOPC athletes, coaches, administrative staff, clinicians, volunteers and other personnel. 
  • Must possess strong organizational skills and proficiency with word processing, spreadsheet / database, and presentation software.  
  • Ability to learn how to use management software utilized by USATF.     
  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects simultaneously. 
  • Must be able to pass a background screen and drug test.  
NON-PHYSICAL DEMANDS: 
  • Must be willing to occasionally travel domestically and internationally and work irregular hours, including on call hours when at events.
