Job Summary:
The Performance Analyst assists National Team (NT) and National Junior Team (NJT) athletes and coaches in their pursuit of international success through the provision of expert performance-related services.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Provide direct performance services to NT and NJT athletes and coaches including:
- Expert feedback on all technical components of swimming.
- Race analysis data and information.
- Video services in training and at competition.
- Pre-competition and in-competition data and analysis at major domestic and international competitions.
- Develop strong working relationships with NT coaches and athletes through regular interaction and proactive communication.
- Assist in the development and evolution of the National Team Division’s race analysis and race data services.
- Assist with performance planning for major international competitions.
- Stay up to date on developing technologies in the swimming and training worlds and make recommendations for appropriate integrations to services.
- Maintain an understanding of trends in international swimming and swimming analysis communities to ensure that USA Swimming is on the cutting edge of service provision.
Other Duties:
- Provide performance services to athletes and coaches at competitions and training camps.
- Perform site visits to relevant NT programs as needed.
- Assist with event planning when needed, including dates and time standards.
- Other duties as assigned.

Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in sports management, sport science, related field, or equivalent preferred.
- Minimum five years’ experience as a swim coach or administrator. Experience working with elite-level athletes preferred.
- Experience setting up and operating sophisticated camera equipment (camcorders, GoPro’s, etc.) or the ability to learn quickly.
- Understanding and experience with international level swimming, to include stroke techniques, details (starts, turns, etc.), race strategy, and high-performance goals.
- Experience with race analysis software, video sharing/playback platforms, and Apple products.
- Experience working with analytical software(s) to provide statistical and analytical reporting.
- Knowledge of or experience with National Governing Bodies and the Olympic Movement.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to travel domestically and internationally up to 30% of the year.
- Must maintain proper documentation that allows for international travel.
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time, transport equipment up to 75 pounds, and manage energy expenditure over trips that can last several weeks.
- This position works in an office setting in the USA Swimming headquarters in Colorado Springs, CO; must be willing to relocate to Colorado Springs or the surrounding area.
Salary & Benefits:
- Salary range for this position is $80,000 - $90,000 annually.
- Bonus Eligibility: Based on company performance, this position may be eligible for an annual target bonus of 7.50%
