The General Manager, USA Rugby College Rugby serves as the senior leader and public face of collegiate rugby within USA Rugby. Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the General Manager is responsible for driving the long-term growth, visibility, and commercial success of the collegiate game by expanding participation, strengthening institutional and conference relationships, developing strategic partnerships, and creating new revenue opportunities.

 

Working collaboratively with the College Rugby Association of America (CRAA), the USA Rugby College Council, conferences, member institutions, coaches, referees, student-athletes, alumni, and volunteers, the General Manager will lead initiatives that grow membership, enhance the collegiate competition structure, increase sponsorship and philanthropic support, expand events, and strengthen the overall collegiate rugby ecosystem.

 

While supported by USA Rugby's operational departments, including finance, membership, communications, legal, events, and administration, the General Manager's primary responsibility is outward-facing leadership. The role focuses on cultivating relationships, building strategic partnerships, identifying new opportunities for growth, and positioning collegiate rugby as a premier pathway within USA Rugby.

 

The General Manager serves as the principal business and community leader for collegiate rugby, ensuring alignment with USA Rugby's strategic priorities while creating sustainable growth in participation, revenue, visibility, and competitive excellence.

Lead the long-term growth and success of collegiate rugby within the USA Rugby ecosystem by developing and executing strategic initiatives that expand participation, strengthen member institutions and conferences, and advance the collegiate game.

Serve as the business leader for collegiate rugby by identifying and developing opportunities that increase revenue and ensure long-term financial sustainability.

Working with USA Rugby's Commercial Department, the General Manager will:

Serve as USA Rugby's primary ambassador for collegiate rugby and build collaborative relationships across the collegiate landscape.

Work closely with:

Foster collaboration, trust, and alignment throughout the collegiate rugby community.

Provide executive oversight of collegiate competitions while leveraging USA Rugby staff and community partners to deliver best-in-class events and services.

Provide oversight of:

Ensure a first-class student-athlete experience while supporting continuous improvement across all competitions.

Lead the USA Rugby College business unit by building a high-performing team and effectively utilizing the resources of the USA Rugby National Office.

Responsibilities include:

Ensure collegiate rugby operates in accordance with USA Rugby's governance framework while strengthening the pathway to national team programs.

Success will be measured by the General Manager's ability to expand participation, strengthen partnerships, increase financial sustainability, and position collegiate rugby as a premier pathway within USA Rugby.

Compensation Range: $75,000 – $90,000 annually. The following represents the good-faith salary range and benefits package for this role. Final compensation will be determined based on the candidate’s experience, qualifications, and internal equity.
