Board of Directors Member (Volunteer)
This is an active, working role—not ceremonial. You will help shape governance, strategy, and long-term stewardship as the sport scales nationwide.
- Expanding access through USA Pickleball Serves (schools, underserved communities, youth programs)
- Growing recreational, competitive, and professional play
- Scaling infrastructure, officiating, programming, and governance
- Raising the sport’s national and global profile
Who we want
- Proven leader with experience driving impact in high-growth or complex organizations
- Passionate about sport and committed to advancing pickleball at all levels
- Expertise in one or more: governance, marketing, events, media, tech, finance, law, business development, transformation, nonprofit impact, international relations, or high-performance sport
- Strategic thinker, collaborative teammate, sound judgment, and intellectual curiosity
- Understands fiduciary duty and organizational stewardship
Board responsibilities
- Safeguard mission and set strategic direction
- Provide governance, financial oversight, and performance monitoring
- Approve and oversee major programs and initiatives
- Help secure partnerships, sponsorships, and resources
- Raise the organization’s public profile and recruit future leaders
Expectations of board members
- Active participation in meetings, committees, and retreats
- Deep engagement with mission, strategy, policies, and finances
- Constructive contribution to board deliberations
- Familiarity with the sport and its competitive landscape
- Uphold the highest standards of integrity and confidentiality
- Volunteer service (uncompensated)
