Job Title: Design & Production Specialist
Department: Marketing, Communications, Events
Basic Function: To develop bold, engaging creative for publications, digital marketing assets and promotional and event collateral to support the needs of USA Hockey, The USA Hockey Foundation and U.S Ice Rinks Association.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
Design/produce high-quality assets to support efforts including:
• Marketing campaigns and advertisements
• Educational materials
• Social media graphics and animations
• Email campaigns and digital ads
• Event signage/branding and tournament materials
• Merchandise, apparel, and promotional items
• Presentations and internal materials
- Support branding efforts for major USA Hockey events, such as national tournaments, IIHF World Championships, and Olympic/Paralympic-related initiatives.
- Maintain brand integrity by ensuring all creative outputs align with USA Hockey’s visual standards.
- Stay on top of design trends and best practices to bring fresh, innovative ideas to projects.
- Prepare and optimize files for both print and digital production.
- Coordinate with vendors, printers, and freelancers for production needs and proofing processes.
- Maintain an organized digital asset library, including templates, style guides, and historical files.
- Work closely with stakeholders to execute cohesive campaigns.
- Participate in brainstorms and contribute creative concepts for future initiatives.
- Lead project scheduling and communication to ensure deadlines are met.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
1. Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, visual communications, related field or equivalent experience.
2. 1-3 years professional experience (internship or professional) in graphic design, visual communications, or similar field.
3. Strong portfolio showcasing a wide range of design work across digital, print and social platforms.
4. Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite including InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, After Effects, Media Encoder, Acrobat Professional.
5. Knowledge of production, pre-press and printing processes.
6. Ability to effectively manage and prioritize numerous projects at once and meet critical deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
7. Strong attention to detail and strong visual storytelling skills.
8. Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills.
9. Solid work ethic and high level of independent motivation.
10. Ability to work weekends/holidays as needed.
Salary Range: $60,000 - $65,000
