Summary:
Sport Development Regional Coordinators (SDRCs) are part-time contractors who champion the sport of field hockey through USA Field Hockey programs and resources in assigned geographic areas. SDRCs are responsible for serving, inspiring and supporting local expert leaders; State Chapters and their Officers and Leaders, New and Existing Member Clubs, new and existing school programs (High Schools) and USA Field Hockey’s affiliated groups (Masters, USFHL, All Starz) to grow the game and USA Field Hockey’s footprint among players, parents, coaches, officials and fans. SDRCs champion the sport of field hockey and USA Field Hockey in assigned geographic areas.

Summary of Purpose:  
SDRCs are USA Field Hockey’s boots on the ground, the professionals who represent USA Field Hockey at the grassroots level. SDRCs nurture relationships with local leaders and support their strategies for success through team building, improved communication and delivery of national resources, networking, and sharing of best practices. SDRCs focus on increasing participation, supporting USA Field Hockey’s system of regional representation in the form of State Chapters to enhance the existing field hockey landscape. Focus is on growing participation at the youth, Club and High School levels.

SDRCs are the local experts, maintaining an up-to-date database and CRM of Field Hockey Leaders in their geographic area and making sure USA Field Hockey’s national office’s tools and resources are delivered and utilized for maximum success. SDRCs are expected to become trusted field hockey experts within their regions, making sure Clubs, High Schools, State Chapters and other local leaders are informed, supported and appreciated. 

Duties & Responsibilities:
Strategically promote and deliver USA Field Hockey’s sport development programs, properties and organizational assets to local experts and leaders of Clubs, State Chapters, Schools and other MSOs to increase utilization and participation and to develop, strengthen and grow the sport and USA Field Hockey brand. 

Support USA Field Hockey’s State Chapter Structure, providing training, resources, reporting metrics, operations support, and volunteer inspiration and recognition.

Liaise with other SDRCs and all other USA Field Hockey departments – Communication and Marketing, Coach Education, Umpiring, Membership, Nexus, Events, International Events, HR, Finance, and our Men’s and Women’s National Teams as needed to support growth and leaders in your region.
  
Deliverables/KPIs
SDRCs will:
o   Maintain Sport Development’s contact database of clubs, youth programs, schools (middle, high school, college (NCAA and Club), and State Chapter leaders, other key hockey leaders by state within their geographic area 

o   Track and report the support, programming and resources provided to clubs, youth, high school programs, State Chapter Leaders, and volunteer-led programs

o   Deliver 2 trainings annually, per State Chapter, of USA Field Hockey resources and programming, including: Discover Field Hockey Clinics and their value for growing field hockey for youth, high school feeder programs, Clubs “how to”

·         Minimum of 1 Discover FH Clinic in each SC annually
·         Paid USA Field Hockey Courses (Certification and Workshops)
·         1 Coach Ed paid training offered annually
·         1 Umpire Ed paid training offered annually

Minimum Qualifications Required:
Education:
  High School Degree is required 
 
Licensure & Certification: 
At all times, maintain a current USA Field Hockey membership, background check and Safesport Certification  | 
 
Experience: 
·      Customer service and sales experience preferred
·      Field hockey experience preferred
·      Volunteer organization and management experience preferred 
 
Skills: 
·      Must be proficient in Microsoft Office programs.
·      Strength in teamwork and team building
·      Must have exceptional interpersonal and communication skills and ability to work with many different types of people
·      Ability to multi-task, handle frequent interruptions and competing priorities, be good at time management and meet deadlines 
 
Tools, Equipment, & Conditions: 
·      Travel may be  necessary
·      Flexibility to cater to volunteers’ needs and schedules 
   
Work Location: Remote SDRCs will cover specified geographic areas based on a number of factors, including residency and hours available     

Contractor Pay Range:
SDRCs will be part-time contractors, paid according to the size of the geographic area able to cover
