Job Title: Men's National Indoor Hockey Teams Head Coach

Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to lead and coach USA Field Hockey’s Junior and Senior Men's National Indoor Hockey Teams. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing training programs, fostering teamwork and camaraderie among players, strategizing for competitions, and representing the team professionally at national and international events. This position requires a deep understanding of indoor hockey, excellent leadership abilities, and a passion for coaching elite athletes and transferring enthusiasm for indoor hockey to grow the game.   

Responsibilities:

1.      Develop comprehensive training programs focused on skill development, fitness, tactics, and strategy for the Junior and Senior Men's National Indoor Hockey Team athletes.
2.      Responsible for evaluating, recruiting and selecting the best players available to play on the US Men’s Junior and Senior National Indoor Teams for international competitions in compliance with USA Field Hockey and FIH guidelines for athlete selection.
3.      Organize and conduct regular training sessions, including individual skill sessions, team practices, and video analysis sessions.
4.      Assess players' strengths and weaknesses to tailor training plans and individualized development programs.
5.      Foster a positive team culture and conduct based on respect, discipline, and sportsmanship. Models nondiscriminatory practices in all activities. 
6.      Collaborate with assistant coaches, team managers, tactical specialists and support staff to ensure seamless operations and player welfare.
7.      Liaise with USA Men’s National Team Coach to promote and manage the participation and connection for junior and senior indoor athletes with the existing programming within USA Field Hockey
8.      Analyze opponents' strategies and devise game plans to identify weaknesses and maximize our team's strengths.
9.      Provide constructive feedback and encouragement to players to facilitate their growth and performance improvement.
10.  Represent USA Field Hockey and the team professionally in interactions with national governing bodies, sponsors, media, and the public. Maintains appropriate conduct towards players, officials, and spectators. 
11.  Travel with the teams to domestic and international competitions, providing guidance, support, and leadership throughout.
12.  Continuously monitor and evaluate team’s performance, adjusting strategies and tactics as needed to achieve competitive success.

Qualifications:

1.      Previous playing or coaching experience at the elite level, preferably with national or international indoor hockey teams.
2.      In-depth knowledge of modern indoor hockey rules, tactics, and strategies.
3.      Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate players to perform at their best.
4.      Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, with the capacity to build rapport with players, staff, and stakeholders.
5.      Proven ability to develop and implement effective training programs that lead to performance improvement.
6.      Experience in video analysis and using technology to enhance coaching methodologies.
7.      Flexibility to travel and work irregular hours, including evenings and weekends, to accommodate the team's schedule.
