Summary
The main function of the National Technical Coach is to assist all squads with Technical/Tactical Development, and preparation of all Elite USA Boxing’s High Performance Teams. This position works closely with all members of the High Performance Staff

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Assist the High Performance Staff in developing individual athlete training and competition plans for all national teams and communicate plans to athletes and personal coaches.
  • Assist the National Head Coach and Assistant HP Director- Sport Performance in overseeing athlete preparation, tapering and weight control, while providing technical coaching and mentoring to high performance athletes and their personal coaches.
  • Assist with the development of athlete profiles and execution of quarterly reviews to track performances.
  • Assist with film study and utilization of USA scouting library, at camps and in competitions.
  • Work with the National Development Coach to develop and implement national scouting initiatives to identify and recruit top prospects into the High-Performance program
  • Assist the USA Boxing Coaching Education Coordinator in the development and maintenance of a coaching education program
  • Assist the Head coach in the corner at international events/ or Lead when required.
  • Collaborate with the Assistant HP Director – Sport Performance in the development of a sport performance team to enhance athlete performance using innovative sport science practices
Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Experience
  • Must have a minimum of 10 years of international coaching experience with proven performance coaching athletes who have won medals at the world championships and Olympic Games
Skills and Competencies Required
  • Must possess strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with a diverse population including, but not limited to, athletes, coaches, administrative staff, parents, and volunteers.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment based on organizational policies and procedures.

  • Excellent leadership skills.
  • Outgoing, energetic and enthusiastic.
  • Creativity in regards to training sessions by keeping athletes engaged and eager to improve.

Position Type:                 Exempt, Regular, Full-time
Reports to:                      National Head Coach
Supervisory Role:            High Performance Pool Coaches (with support of National Head Coach and National Development Coach)
Salary Range:                  Commensurate with Experience
Working conditions:       Significant overtime is likely required during and leading up to major events; Non-traditional work hours depending on high performance schedule; Travel is required several times a year; some trips could be 4-6 weeks.
