Job Summary:
 
USA Artistic Swimming (USAAS) is hiring a senior national team full time assistant coach. The assistant coach will start following the 2024 Olympic Games (official start date is to be determined). The position will be a full time employee, responsible for the growth of the country’s highest-level athletes in all areas of the sport. While the physical development and skill enhancement of the athletes are a vital part of this program, the position will be responsible for making each of them a better teammates and well- rounded humans. 
 
These position will work directly with the senior national team head coach, assistant coaches, support staff and high-performance director. They will be instrumental in the development of the coaching plan and team strategy. The positions will assist the head coach in implementing the plan and use their skill set to make the most positive impact on the athletes. 
 
The position will be located at the senior national team training facilities in Los Angeles, CA. Full time employees receive a competitive salary, medical, dental, vision and retirement benefits. 
 
The full-time assistant coach responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
 
• Collaborate with the high-performance director and head coach to prepare the training strategy for the season
- Foster a positive and supportive training environment
- Stay updated on technical requirements and competition standards
• Assist in the development and communication training plan/calendar
• Keep track of the athletes’ progress and provide feedback and guidance to athlete
• Collaborate with support staff (physician, physiotherapist, nutritionist, sport psychologist and any 
other support staff)
•  Assist with the development of music and choreography for national team routines
• Collaborate with the high-performance director for all training and competition logistics
• If applicable, participate in and coordinate media appearances and/or any promotional activities with the high-performance director and communications manager
• Participate in education seminars and conferences as directed by the national office
• Monitor athlete compliance and wellness throughout the training camp
• Perform other tasks as directed by the senior national team head coach and high-performance director
 
To be considered for this position, we are looking for candidates who possess the following:
Preferred Skills and Qualifications:
·       In-depth knowledge of the new artistic swimming scoring system
·       Strong Communication and Leadership Skills
·       Coaching experience at national team level: We require a minimum of a year of coaching experience at national team level or similar. This experience should demonstrate your ability to work with elite athletes, manage training programs, and contribute to the overall success of the national team.
·       Flexibility and Adaptability: The ability to adapt to changes in training methods, techniques, and training formats is essential. You should be open-minded, flexible, and willing to continuously learn and grow as a coach.
 
Requirements:
·       Full-time availability
·       Understanding of USA Artistic Swimming High-Performance Program
Salary:
$65,000 - $75,000
