WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:
The Safeguarding & Compliance Manager is responsible for managing and executing US Club Soccer’s safeguarding and compliance initiatives throughout US Club Soccer’s ecosystem.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Manage the Safeguarding and Compliance Department and applicable department staff.
Maintain safeguarding expertise and remain informed of relevant policies, procedures, guidance and requirements at the federal, state and local levels, including those of U.S. Soccer, the U.S. Center for SafeSport, and similar organizations.
Manage and promptly address reported concerns and inquiries from intake through closure. This process includes, but is not limited to, the following:
- Use of US Club Soccer’s case management system, registration platform and other related sources
- General administration and documentation
- Research and investigatory support
- Communication with and notice to applicable parties, organizations and individuals
- Use of discretion
- Collaboration with internal staff, committees/panels and external organizations
- Support, recommend and/or make eligibility determinations
- Support, recommend and/or determine resolutions
- Coordinate appeals
Provide support to and serve as a resource for members. Provide regular updates to and consult with members regarding responsibilities, policies, procedures, best practices, trainings, and related industry developments.
Audit and enforce members’ compliance with US Club Soccer policies and procedures, with a focus on safeguarding, registration and related requirements.
Contribute to the overall strategy and development of US Club Soccer’s safeguarding and compliance initiatives. Proactively suggest new and revised policies, procedures and resources.
Collaborate with staff, committees and panels, members, U.S. Soccer, U.S. Soccer Organization Members, the U.S. Center for SafeSport, and other applicable parties to operate US Club Soccer’s safeguarding and compliance initiatives, share information and US Club Soccer actions, obtain relevant information, address issues and share best practices.
Create and utilize reports and other resources to understand trends and areas necessitating further review.
Ensure clean and thorough documentation, maintain updated records, and ensure knowledge management throughout US Club Soccer’s safeguarding and compliance initiatives.
Manage, monitor and execute background screening adjudications and appeals, disqualification-suspension review potential matches, and related safeguarding or compliance escalations in US Club Soccer’s registration platform(s).
Monitor and manage annual SafeSport training requirements for staff, BOD members and other internal individuals.
Registration-related support on an as-needed basis.
Occasional long days, evening/weekend/holiday work and travel may be required based on business needs.

THE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE YOU NEED:
This position requires an individual who is proactive, of high integrity, and able to work cooperatively in a team environment while representing US Club Soccer in a professional manner. Additional qualifications are as follows:

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year institution, or equivalent previous work experience.
Strong emotional intelligence.
Ability to think critically, interpret and comprehend complex information, and recognize and assess risk in a logical capacity.
Exceptional diligence, attention to detail and organizational skills.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to consistently produce clean and thorough documentation.
Strong interpersonal and presentation skills.
Highly refined abilities in time management and prioritization.
Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and independently, and produce high-quality output within specific time constraints.
Ability to use discretion and handle sensitive information confidentially.
Ability to work as business needs require, which may include long days, evenings, weekends, occasional holidays, and travel if / when necessary.
Proficiency with applicable software programs, such as Microsoft Office, and online platforms.
Must have U.S. work authorization.
Existing knowledge of and/or experience with safeguarding, SafeSport / Safe Soccer and compliance within a sports setting is strongly preferred.
Minimum of 2-4 years related professional experience in case management, investigation, and/or compliance auditing strongly preferred.
