US Club Soccer

Manager, Marketing & Communications

US Club Soccer - Manager
Charleston · SC
Social Media · Head of Web/Media Content · Digital Marketing
The Manager of Marketing & Communications is responsible for the development and execution of US Club Soccer’s communications and marketing initiatives. This includes managing content for all platforms in alignment with and to catalyze US Club Soccer’s goals and philosophies.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Strategize, develop and maintain content for US Club Soccer’s social media, website, email marketing and app.
  • Own the organizational editorial calendar, ensuring appropriate cadences of strategic messaging across all platforms.
  • Create and lead strategies to grow US Club Soccer digital channels, challenging yourself and the MarCom department to create content that engages and increases visibility.
  • Assist in content creation. While the MarCom Department has graphic designers and a video content creator, get off the sidelines and take an active role in ideating and creating content. One day, this may mean editing a pre-made graphic template for our newsletter. The next day, this could be conducting interviews at events. And the next day, you might seize a social trend and appear on camera for a video shot with your phone.
  • Own our social media channels. Assume the role as primary publisher, scheduler, commenter, consumer and analyzer. We have a solid foundation but need to scale rapidly to better serve our membership.
  • Contribute to web and app strategy and development, particularly through UX and UI perspectives.
  • Write articles and press releases that will be published on all US Club Soccer digital media channels and distributed to media contacts.
  • Assist with the maintenance of our email database, including segmentation, related to contact lists and templates.
  • Work collaboratively with staff to refine resources to support member services, administrative and partnership efforts. Bring a detail-oriented and creative approach to our presentations.
  • Contribute to the execution of pre-event, on-site and post-event communications plans. Organize plans for digital campaigns and event-related promotions, including at events where the MarCom Department is on-site and at events where we rely on external assistance.
  • Collaborate with the MarCom Creative Manager to ensure brand guidelines are being adhered to internally and externally. Join the rest of the department in always championing the brand and looking for more and better ways to scale US Club Soccer’s brand and the brands of its programs.
  • Coordinate with the MarCom Vice President to maximize external media coverage of US Club Soccer.
  • Establish regular cadence for analytics reporting across all digital channels. Share analytics within the MarCom team to inform content performance and future strategies.
  • Ensure knowledge management and appropriate documentation.
  • Operations, project and event-based support on an as-needed basis.

Some travel and evening/weekend work is required.
