Title: Director, Finance

Anchored by Players First and its pillars of Club Development, Coaching Development, Player Development, Referee Development, Parent Engagement & Education and Player Health & Safety, US Club Soccer offers registration, league- and cup-based competition platforms, player identification and a variety of other programming, resources and services.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:
The Director, Finance is responsible for managerial and administrative functions relating to US Club Soccer’s financial transactions.
Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Manage and execute financial transactions (A/R, A/P, purchases, expenses, revenue, invoices, payments, journal entries, vendor and customer management, etc.) accurately and promptly.
- Help establish, and streamline, document, and comply with, standard operating procedures and controls.
- Monitor and maintain all financial records in an accurate, organized, accessible, efficient, and timely manner.
- Manage cash flow and forecasting.
- Ownership of financial reporting.
- In conjunction with the senior leadership team, manage the annual budgeting process.
- Monitor financial performance and budget tracking, provide regular updates, and work with staff accordingly.
- Maximize utilization of financial / accounting software and resources.
- Liase / work collaboratively with an external firm(s) to complete financial audits and file taxes.
- Manage and execute audit and tax procedures and requests, such as the issuance of IRS Form 1099s.
- Provide financial procedure support to internal and external stakeholders, and work effectively with applicable technology platforms.
- In conjunction with the CEO and COO, present to and liase with the Board of Directors and applicable committee(s).
- Work collaboratively with management company finance staff to review and fulfill applicable financial responsibilities and contractual obligations (commission billing, staff recharges, budgeting, payroll changes, bonus payments, etc.)
- Manage and execute payroll (if applicable).
- Assist with governmental and other required filings.
- Comply with financial laws and standard accounting principles.
- Manage applicable department staff.
- Other financial projects and responsibilities as assigned.
Occasional long days, and evening/weekend/holiday work, may be required based on business needs.
THE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE YOU NEED:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or relevant field
- An accounting background / in-depth knowledge of corporate finance and accounting principles, laws, and best practices (CPA / CFA preferred)
- Proficiency with applicable software and programs, such as Quickbooks and Microsoft 365
- High integrity, and the ability to work cooperatively in a team environment while representing US Club Soccer in a professional manner
- Exceptional diligence, attention to detail, and organizational skills
- Clear and efficient written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to use discretion and handle sensitive information confidentially and securely
- Must have U.S. work authorization
