POSITION SUMMARY
USA Lacrosse is looking for a VP, Corporate Partnership Development who will provide strategic leadership, management, growth, and financial success for USA Lacrosse's corporate partnership sponsorships and advertising.  You will get to create and implement strategies to drive revenue and strengthen USA Lacrosse’s brand.  In this role you will sell sponsorship and advertising partnerships while overseeing the sales and partnership management team to cultivate and manage corporate relationships while executing activation programs.  The VP, Corporate Partnership Development also leads and develops strategy for the special events and the retail/licensing sides of the business.  This role is crucial in leading and creating new commercial revenue ventures and business development opportunities to help achieve the financial goals of the organization.

A Typical Day Looks Like…
  • Monetizes organization-wide assets including, but not limited to, all forms of content, USA Lacrosse intellectual property, special events, new business opportunities, and more.
  • Leads creation, development, and execution of the overall strategy for corporate partnerships, providing team guidance and supervision to drive revenue growth, brand recognition, and mission advancement. 
  • Develops and oversees the annual budget and establishes performance metrics for sponsorships and advertising operations to ensure growth and measurement of return on investment (ROI) for both USA Lacrosse and our partners and sponsors.  
  • Develops innovative brand building platforms, monetization strategies, and new business ventures for USA Lacrosse’s assets and intellectual property.  This includes establishing and monitoring data to analyze and track key performance metrics.
  • Actively prospects and solicits new corporate sponsorship and advertising partners for USA Lacrosse, focusing on both endemic and non-endemic brands.  This includes ensuring thorough prospect management and the development of an ongoing corporate partnership pipeline, including reporting on results.
  • Oversees the partnership management team responsible for execution, activation, renewal, and upsell of corporate partnerships.
  • Innovates to ensure the performance, structure, growth, and success of the team, department, and organization.
  • Manages the special events department responsible for all major organization events including, but not limited to, the National Hall of Fame Ceremony, the USA Lacrosse Experience, and more.
  • Oversees the licensing and retail businesses, including, but not limited to, shop.usalacrosseshop.com.
  • Sets and fulfills strategic goals designed to enhance corporate partner value to USA Lacrosse members, players, coaches, officials, and other stakeholders.
  • Develops and maintains strong, consistent, and collaborative relationships with all department heads, encouraging their proactive support of revenue growth by leveraging partnerships to achieve organizational goals.
  • Serves as a subject matter expert (SME) with respect to best practices in partnership and sponsorship development so USA Lacrosse can increase revenue for the organization, ensuring we are continually concentrating on expanding our reach and increasing brand awareness and recognition.    
  • Provides a supportive, growth mindset leadership, management, and vision to ensure checks, balances, and best practice processes and policies are in place. 
 
Is This You…
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in leading sales and business development teams within a regional and/or national organization.
  • Proven experience in digital, social media, and content monetization.  
  • Preferred sports and entertainment property sponsorship sales and business development experience.
  • Proficiency in Salesforce, Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint), and related business software and hardware tools. 
  • Experience using data and insights to make business decisions and connect insights to strategy for positive business outcomes.
  • Understanding of membership and growth marketing best practices to grow revenue and engagement.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with corporate and agency sports and entertainment sponsorship decision makers.
  • Understanding of media/content production, distribution, and monetization.
  • Proven track record of innovation, responsible risk taking, and new business model creation and execution.  
  • Proven track record of developing and scaling fan engagement platforms that create value, sponsor success, and financial impact.
  • Proven success in leading strategic development and revenue growth within a regional and/or national organization.
  • Demonstrated experience working effectively with executive management in rapidly changing and complex for-profit or non-profit environments.
  • Budget planning and management experience, particularly regarding performance measurement and analysis.
  • Ability to balance multiple priorities and effectively engage staff, volunteer leaders, and external constituencies.
  • Desire to thrive and excel in a collaborative, innovative, and inclusive environment.
  • Exceptional communication and organizational skills with a "roll up your sleeves" attitude to deliver results.
  • Willingness to learn about the sport of lacrosse and appreciate the need to develop and fuel the growth of the game with diversity, equity, and inclusion in mind.  
  • Ability to align with USA Lacrosse’s Mission, Vision, and Values and Strategic Plan to support our initiatives and organizational goals.  
 
Expected Hours of Work
This position is generally expected to work Monday through Friday from 8:30am to 5:00pm and occasionally requires longer hours or weekend work as related to events and other business needs.  This is a hybrid position and works from the headquarters office in Sparks, MD three (3) days a week with the flexibility to work from home two (2) days a week.  
 
Travel Requirements
Travel may be necessary up to 25% of the time (local, regional, national).  Travel would involve the following mode(s) of travel: car, train, or air.  Some out of area and overnight travel may be expected.
