Position Description 
Reporting to the VP, Safeguarding – Response & Welfare, the Safeguarding Coordinator will advance U.S. Soccer’s initiative to provide best playing environments by supporting the administration of U.S. Soccer’s safeguarding program.

Primary Responsibilities 
  • Fulfilling U.S. Soccer’s requirements for the U.S. Center for SafeSport’s (“the Center’s”) response and resolution process by:
  •     Taking and making reports, responding to the Center’s information requests
  •     Communicating Center notices and decisions to U.S. Soccer members 
  • Responding to member inquiries about Center cases
  • Referring reports of misconduct to appropriate member organizations where required and supporting members’ response and resolution of these reports
  • Updating and maintaining U.S. Soccer’s risk management list and the U.S. Soccer Learning Center’s disciplinary list
  • Assisting in the administration of U.S. Soccer’s safe soccer clearance program by: 
  •       Receiving safe soccer clearance modification and suspension requests and preparing them for review
  •        Receiving background screening report appeals and preparing them for review
  • Performing case setup and data entry in U.S. Soccer’s case management database
  • Completing data analysis in U.S. Soccer’s case management database and generating reports on data as needed
  • Assisting in the monitoring and enforcement of U.S. Soccer members’ athlete safety compliance requirements
  • Helping U.S. Soccer meet Center for SafeSport and USOPC compliance requirements and supporting preparation for compliance audits
  • Creating presentation and education materials for safeguarding reporting and response
  • Supporting the VP, Safeguarding – Prevention & Education as needed

Minimum Qualifications
  • College degree 
  • Able and willing to travel as necessary 
  • Able and willing to work non-traditional hours including evenings and weekends as needed

  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Suite (e.g., Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Experience with data management and reporting 
  • Spanish speaking
