LOCATION Park City, Utah
TRAVEL 25%- 35%
SALARY $50,000-$55,000

U.S. Ski & Snowboard is seeking a Manager, Events & Hospitality. This is a full-time, beneficial position eligible for our full benefits package including medical insurance and retirement. For inquiries or help with your application, please email [email protected].
 
 
SUMMARY / OBJECTIVE 
U.S. Ski & Snowboard is on the hunt for a dynamic individual who is passionate about creating and elevating unique, timely and differentiating experiences for donors and marketing partners.  They will have a passion for winter sports, experience and will bring their passion and experience to work across the Foundation and Commercial Departments to manage special events, support hospitality trips, donor stewardship programs within the U.S. Ski & Snowboard Foundation and Commercial Departments. This position is responsible for being the department's event liaison for galas, on-snow events, receptions, and small domestic/international hospitality programs. Duties can include event communication, event production, site selection, contract negotiation, event design, online auctions, and other details. This role requires you to embed yourself in the organization and work closely with a number of different departments to get your job done daily.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Operational Excellence
    • The ability to work cross departmentally to deliver high-quality special events across the United States for donors, marketing partners, fans, and athletes.
    • Anticipates the resources needed for the event including volunteers, supplies, vendors, sponsors, permits, transportation, etc. as needed.
    • Ensures the event runs smoothly. 
    • Leads and participates in the pre-event planning, reviews any history of the event, documents all event logistics and debrief sessions.
  • Athlete Experience
    • Support athlete development and awareness of the impact of the Foundation and Commercial departments
    • Collaborate with the Senior Account Manager in the selection and coordination of athletes for each event
    • Promote all our athletes and sports through impactful and engaging ways to our donor bas 
  • Financial Performance
    • Manage fiscally conscious specific event budgets as it relates to expense and revenue
 
OTHER DUTIES
●      Assist the Foundation Major Gift Officers and Commercial Account Managers as needed
●      Build and run event, silent and live auction websites
●      Administer event inventory

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

●      Ability to travel both domestic and international up to 35%
●      Must have or be able to obtain a valid passport for international travel
●      Must possess valid driver license as position requires driving of company and personal vehicle
●      Work on nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
 
COMPETENCIES & EXPERIENCE
  1. 3+ years of experience in the events and hospitality field and a proven track record in managing and developing relationships with key stakeholders

  3. Be strategic and innovative: anticipate and overcome challenges, be willing to ask the questions, and constantly look for ways to enhance the U.S. Ski & Snowboard guest experience

  5. Exceptional organizational skills.
  6. Requires strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  7. Ability to multi-task and wear many hats
  8. Willing to learn new skills quickly and put them into action
  9. Self-starter and ability to work autonomously under pressure in different environments 
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. Will oversee some projects with the Development Assistant and Commercial Account Managers. 
 
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS FOR THE ROLE
●      This position must be able to lift 25+ pounds
●      Must be able to work outside in extreme temperatures
