U.S. Ski & Snowboard is seeking an Event Operations Manager.

SUMMARY / OBJECTIVE
The Event Operation Manager will work with the Director of Events to plan, develop and manage the event venue production and operational elements of USSS’ events. This will include the lead and oversight of USSS equipment and materials, managing of venue production personnel, scheduling of materials and transportation, and participation on select Event Management Teams to oversee venue infrastructures.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Event Operations
- Provide leadership and Supervision to the department for Event Operations and Venue Production at USSS’ event properties including:
- Overseeing and coordinating all technical sport facilities for USSS' elite event properties with USSS Event Directors and Event Managers
- Manage a budget of approximately $50,000+/- annually
- Securing Event equipment, facilities and materials.
- Manage the policies and procedures for event’s department asset control.
- Oversee venue build-out and break-down planning at all elite level events and provide oversight at select premiere events
- Manage design and venue development of event venue layouts including location of all facilities and permanent and temporary infrastructure requirements around competition venues.
- Work with TAs to build course preparation plan and oversee the implementation of plan. Establish FIS requirements and understand issues with the competition to manage the resolution of those issues with the TA.
- Oversee management of sponsorship inventory and equipment understanding FIS regulations and specifications.
- Competition liaison with TV production for onsite operational needs and logistics.
- Work with TA on TV structure placement and field of view issues.
- Manage event operations personal
- Working with Event Director to coordinate delivery of Vendor Services and FIS provided Timing and Data Services.
Event Administration
- Work with Department staff to manage and implement an annual event operations plan.
- Manage annual Event Operations and Event Safety Budgets.
- Work with the Marketing team and manage the development and distribution of Inventory sheets for USSS' Elite Events. Manage all USSS-owned Event equipment and supplies including:
- Oversee production of all course signage and banners.
- Implementation of asset management system.
- Semi-annual inventory of all equipment and supplies.
- Maintain functionality of all equipment including repairs, retrofits, upgrades, etc.
- Maintain inventory of basic operational supplies.
- Manage USSS storage facilities.
- Establish long-term equipment and supply plan.
- Manage Event Operations Personnel including:
- Manage travel including vehicle bookings and flights for all personnel and vendors in World Cup/National Championship business unit.
- Hiring and scheduling of seasonal operations personnel.
- With VP of Events, establish policies and procedures for operations personnel and provide personnel training and management.
- Provide oversight for the management of event safety materials including:
- Seek input from event managers and technical advisors for safety material needs by August 1 and oversee the safety material calendar
- Establishing consistent cross discipline procedures for safety material inventory management and maintenance.
- Help define expectations with the VP and TA for on-site management of safety materials at elite events.
- Develop and manage templates for bi-annual inspection report on safety materials.
- Provide input on the annual plan for competition and safety material management and acquisition.
- Provide staffing and operational support for Marketing Operations including:
- Coordinate with Marketing and Sales Department regarding their sponsor servicing needs.
- Coordinate sponsor banner inventory / signage for all USSS events
- Assist in sponsor related material transportation and logistics
- Provide maintenance and repair support for Marketing owned equipment and materials (tents, generators, signage, etc.)
- Provide Broadcast logistics support with operations personal
- Manage acquisition of all major event equipment and materials including:
- Purchase of competition materials and supplies from USSS Industry Suppliers
- Event safety materials and supplies.
- Event operations materials and supplies.
- Lead negotiations to select vendor and supplier agreements with VP of Events and Event Directors.
- Work with VP of Events and Event Directors on FIS compliance.
- Establish event branding and dressing that meets FIS standards
- Coordinate with LOC and NGB to meet broadcast needs
- Plan and execute TV rehearsals for dressings and branding
- Review industry standards and best practices annually.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

- Incumbents must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, climb, stand, stoop and work outside in all weather conditions. Job requires travel and work on weekends, nights, holidays and on-call basis.
- Proficient at skiing or snowboarding
COMPETENCIES & EXPERIENCE
- Minimum of 5-7 years experience managing major events and/or large operational projects.
- Minimum of 3-5 years experience negotiating contracts or agreements.
- Minimum education of a Bachelor Degree.
- Experience managing complex logistical environments with a wide range of equipment.
- Experience and familiarity with USSS and FIS.
- Ability to ski at an advanced level.
- Proven experience managing equipment inventories and budgets in excess of $100,000.
- Proven skills in managing staff.
- Mature demeanor with experience in personnel management.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to set and achieve goals.
- Computer competency including internet, spreadsheets, word processing and presentations.
- Ability to plan, organize and use independent judgment
- Ability to travel.
