U.S. Ski & Snowboard is seeking a Club Development Manager.

SUMMARY / OBJECTIVE
The Club Development Manager is responsible for delivering high quality education, resources and recognition to approximately 350 U.S. Ski & Snowboard member clubs. The Club Development Manager will have a strong working knowledge of all aspects of ski and snowboard club leadership, operations, programming and performance. The Club Development Manager will continue the development of content and delivery systems for the U.S. Ski & Snowboard Club Development Program including the development of the next phase of club certification and the exchange of best practice information among clubs. The Club Development program’s goals are to support and strengthen the U.S. Ski & Snowboard local affiliate clubs (LAOs) to provide Best in the World programming to their respective communities.
The purpose of the U.S. Ski and Snowboard Sport Education Department is to enhance the quality of athletic programs in alpine, nordic, freestyle, freeskiing, and snowboarding with programming aimed at clubs, coaches, parents, athletes, and sport leadership. The department delivers content, educational programs, and resources of the highest quality, in accordance with U.S. Ski &Snowboards’ core values, designed for an American system built around long-term athlete development and sustainable athletic excellence.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
PRIMARY DUTIES
- Implement and oversee the U.S. Ski & Snowboard Club Development Program
- Direct the club certification program
- Oversee all aspects to maintain the integrity and consistent high standards of the U.S. Ski & Snowboard Club Certification Program.
- Solicit and engage a team of expert club development consultants to assess and certify affiliate clubs
- Track club certification status and timelines
- Manage the club education program
- Direct the development of self-guided learning modules through U.S. Ski & Snowboard Sport Education delivery platforms.
- Organize and deliver annual Club Excellence Conferences, Summits, and Speaker Series on a regular basis.
- Collaborate closely with the LMS Coordinator and Instructional Designer to develop and integrate club resources within the Sport Education Academy, including courses, learning resources, and club management tools
- Oversee U.S. Ski and Snowboard club recognition initiatives and program
- Develop and implement club resources
- Direct current resources in a way they can be easily accessed and used
- Create new resources to assist clubs in all aspects of club management and programming
- Work closely with U.S. Ski & Snowboard High Performance Center Program Manager, Competition Services Director, U.S. Ski & Snowboard Membership department and other entities to develop tools for athlete management, data tracking and dissemination of findings to all U.S. Ski & Snowboard Clubs.
- Coordinate and promote coach education and certification guidelines for clubs
- Design professional sport management curriculum to train future club leaders in primary areas of Club Development: Organizational, Human, and Programmatic.
- Manage content related to clubs for the U.S. Ski and Snowboard Sport Education and Membership e-newsletters
- Track budgets, survey feedback and other metrics relating to the Club Development aspects of the business plan for use in evaluation and planning
SECONDARY DUTIES
- Support Sport and Education Departments in the development and implementation of SkillsQuest and other initiatives in clubs
- Support all U.S. Ski & Snowboard SafeSport work and serve on the Athlete Safety Committee
- Support the venue excellence program in conjunction with the Alpine Sport Committee
- Support coaches’ education by developing and reviewing content for coaches education as needed
This position works from the U.S. Ski & Snowboard Center of Excellence in Park City, UT. Hours are generally 8:00am to 5:00pm on weekdays. Occasional weekend, early morning or evening work may be required during special events or projects. This position is paid a salary and is exempt from overtime pay.
MAIN ATTRIBUTES
- Supports and promotes the vision, mission and core values of the U.S. Ski & Snowboard
- Ski or snowboard coaching experience; Event organization experience
- Experience in a supervisory capacity or leadership capacity within a ski or snowboard club
- Experience and/or Education in Non-Profit Management, Leadership, or Consulting
- Confident public speaker, educator, and presenter
- Impartial, positive reputation in ski and snowboard community
- Passion and enthusiasm for all sports under the U.S. Ski & Snowboard umbrella
- Proficient with office technology (Google Drive and applications, Adobe products, basic web editing, database management)
- Able to quickly learn and implement new technology (online educational platforms, web editing, web/video conferencing, multi-media presentation)
- Continual desire to learn and improve
- Ability to effectively work in a team environment and collaborate with all U.S .Ski & Snowboard staff, members, clubs, coaches, parents, athletes and stakeholders.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Able to manage multiple projects simultaneously with attention to detail.
REPORTS TO
Sport Education Director and works closely with entire Sport Education Department, U.S. Ski & Snowboard Sport Directors and Managers, High Performance staff, and U.S. Ski & Snowboard Membership Department.
