Position Summary
The USA Triathlon Internship Program is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the largest multisport organization in the world and the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic National Governing Body (NGB) for the sport of triathlon and other multisport disciplines. Internships at USA Triathlon present unique opportunities to explore new experiences with technology, people, and specific projects that will help guide the trajectory of your chosen career. Our internships are unpaid but specifically designed to provide a rich educational environment for students studying and/or those seeking a career in recreation, athletics, sports management, communication, event planning, or relationship management.
Essential Job Functions
- Collaborate with the fast-charging NCAA program team and coaches in the field
- Work together to contribute to a variety of departmental and organizational projects and event planning to support NCAA triathletes and the triathlete community.
- Input data into applicable databases and technological systems; ensure accuracy of work and troubleshoot errors as needed essential to the management of the sport.
- Provide research at levels defined that support the program.
- Research data collection for the NCAA program
- Database management.
- Analysis of data that helps guide NCAA programming
- Create graphs and charts to be utilized for storytelling around scholastic programs.
- Create decks that speak the data in a formalized format
- Mine data to develop new pathways of growth.
- Apply what is learned to areas of the build that drive growth and engagement for noted constituency.
- Coalesce different segments of NCAA triathlon as projects require.
- Aid in the recruitment of and communication with key volunteers with the NCAA Coaches Association (CTCA)
Qualifications
- Must be enrolled in, or recently graduated from, an educational program in recreation, athletics, sports management, communication, event planning, relationship management, or a related field
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Self-motivated and goal driven; willingness to take on diverse roles and responsibilities
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Communication and interpersonal skills with all levels of the organization
- Excellent time-management skills
- Working knowledge of MS Office and proficient in technological systems
- Must be eligible to work in the U.S.
Expectations
- Provide 8-10 hours a week of support as part of a 12-month commitment
- Be part of weekly calls with the intern team and staff
- Travel to various event destinations if needed
