Position Summary
The Manager, National Partnerships is responsible for managing and strengthening USA Triathlon’s national partner relationships, ensuring contractual commitments are delivered with excellence while proactively identifying opportunities to enhance partner value and collaboration.
This role owns day-to-day partner management and serves as a key liaison between partners and internal teams. While executional accountability is core to the role, the Manager is also expected to contribute strategic thinking—helping evolve partnerships over time through thoughtful activation, storytelling, and renewal support.
This position is ideal for a highly capable partnership professional who is externally facing, internally trusted, and ready to grow into broader strategic leadership as the partnership portfolio and organizational priorities expand.
Partner Relationship Management & Delivery
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned national partners, building strong, trusted relationships grounded in accountability and collaboration.
  • Own the successful delivery of contractual obligations, ensuring all assets and integrations are executed on time, on brand, and with quality.
  • Lead regular partner touchpoints with clear agendas, progress updates, and action-oriented outcomes.
  • Anticipate partner needs and flag opportunities or risks early, rather than reacting to issues as they arise.
Partnership Optimization & Value Creation
  • Identify opportunities to enhance partner value within existing agreements, including improved activation, storytelling, and cross-channel integration.
  • Support renewal conversations by helping articulate partnership performance, impact, and areas for future growth.
  • Collaborate with sales leadership on renewal preparation, upsell ideas, and evolving partnership narratives.
  • Help maximize the full value of partnerships, including cash, VIK, amplification, expertise, and content opportunities.
Internal Collaboration & Coordination
  • Partner closely with internal teams (Marketing, Communications, Events, High Performance, Foundation, Operations, Finance) to plan and execute partner integrations.
  • Act as an internal advocate for partner needs while protecting USA Triathlon’s brand integrity, priorities, and exclusivity guidelines.
  • Serve as a knowledgeable resource on partnership history, contractual context, and best practices.
Contractual & Operational Oversight
  • Maintain accountability for contracts, deliverables, and reporting across assigned partners.
  • Oversee fulfillment systems and processes (e.g., Asana, Box, reporting tools), focusing on clarity and efficiency.
  • Coordinate with Finance on invoicing, payments, revenue recognition, and VIK tracking.

Key Competencies & Experience
  • 5–8+ years of experience in partnerships, sponsorships, or brand marketing.
  • Proven ability to manage complex partner relationships with multiple stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational skills and comfort owning execution while contributing strategic ideas.
  • Excellent communication and relationship management skills, both externally and internally.
  • Commercial mindset with interest in renewals, upsells, and long-term partnership value.
  • Experience working cross-functionally in a matrixed organization.
 Working Conditions and Physical Requirements
  • USA Triathlon offers a hybrid work schedule and requires this position to be on site at USAT headquarters in Colorado Springs, CO at least two days per week (Wed & Thurs)
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be regularly required to stand, sit, talk, hear, reach, stoop, kneel, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer, telephone, and keyboard. The employee may be required to exert force to manipulate or move items weighing up to 30 pounds.

Salary Description
58,000 to 65,000
