Overview:
We’re looking for a creative, organized, and driven Social Media Coordinator to join our marketing team. This role will support the UPSHOT League and the first four inaugural teams; Jacksonville Waves, Savannah Steel, Greensboro Groove, and the Charlotte Crown by helping develop, plan, and execute engaging social media content across multiple platforms. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, has a sharp eye for detail, and enjoys transforming ideas into engaging, results-driven content. This role will join our Zawyer Sports Marketing Department. Finalists will be contacted for interviews.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the marketing team to brainstorm, plan, and execute social media campaigns and content calendars across all brands and entities through creative storytelling
- Write clear, on-brand copy and captions for various platforms (Instagram, Facebook, X/Twitter, Youtube, LinkedIn, TikTok, etc.).
- Schedule and publish posts using social media management tools to ensure consistent and timely content delivery.
- Assist in content creation, including coordinating photo/video shoots, collecting assets, and curating visuals.
- Monitor social channels, engage with followers, and track trends and opportunities for growth.
- Support all internal teams, departments, and clients by aligning content strategies with overall marketing goals.
- Maintain an organized posting calendar and ensure deadlines are met in a fast moving, collaborative environment.
- Tracks performance metrics and assists with reporting and analytics to inform strategy.
- Stay current on social media trends, platform updates, and best practices.
- Brings innovative ideas to the table and helps push creative boundaries across campaigns.
- Assist with website updates and content management to ensure accuracy and brand consistency.
- Supports game-day and event coverage, including capturing behind-the-scenes content.
- Experience shooting with a DSLR cameras is a mandatory with the ability to produce, edit and post.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 3–4 years of experience in social media coordination, content creation, or digital marketing.
- Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities; able to juggle multiple projects at once.
- Experience using social media scheduling and analytics tools (e.g., Hootsuite, Later, Sprout Social, Meta Business Suite, etc.).
- Creative mindset with attention to detail and brand consistency.
- Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Bonus Skills:
- Basic graphic design or video editing experience (Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, CapCut, etc.).
- Experience managing multiple brands or accounts simultaneously.
- Knowledge of women’s sports a plus
- Knowledge of basketball, hockey, and baseball a plus.
