Role Summary
The Dance Team Choreographer serves as the creative leader and on-court coordinator for the UPSHOT League Dance Teams, playing a key role in elevating game presentation and fan engagement. This position collaborates closely with Game Experience and Marketing to ensure performances align with league standards and brand identity while overseeing choreography, rehearsals, and performer development. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong leadership, clear communication, and the ability to execute consistently in fast-paced, live-event environments.
Key Responsibilities
· Oversee one of the inaugural UPSHOT League dance teams (Jacksonville Waves/Savannah Steel/Greensboro Groove/Charlotte Crown) to ensure they create an engaging and entertaining atmosphere at UPSHOT League games and events.
· Design, choreograph, and teach dance routines for in-game performances, promotional appearances, and community events.
· Mentor and provide constructive feedback to performers on choreography, techniques, and presentation.
· Plan, coordinate, and lead team practices.
· Maintain a professional and upbeat demeaner while representing The UPHOT League brand.
· Collaborate with game entertainment staff, marketing, and community relations teams to align performances with organizational goals.
· Manage scheduling, attendance, and performance standards for all team members.
· Ensure compliance with safety protocols and organizational policies during practices and performances.
· Assist with costume coordination, music selection, and overall creative direction for performances.
Qualifications
· High School diploma, or equivalent.
· 5-10 years of dance and coaching experience, including choreography and team leadership.
· Outstanding communication skills and a positive, energetic personality.
· Ability to work nights, weekends and holidays as required by the team schedule.
· Knowledge of The UPSHOT League brand is preferred.

Availability & Terms
- Must be available for all home games
- Local candidates preferred, relocation at applicant’s expense
