Upshot Game Operations Internship: 
The Greensboro Groove, part of the emerging UPSHOT Women’s Basketball League, are seeking motivated and dedicated interns for our inaugural season. This is a unique opportunity to help build a team and brand from the ground up. This internship is ideal for anyone looking to gain hands-on experience in professional sports, event operations, and community engagement.

 Position Overview:
The internship provides hands-on experience on game days and working community events. Interns will work closely with the Zawyer Sports & UPSHOT Front Office staff to help execute all aspects of game operations. They will also assist with office projects and community events alongside the sales team.

Timeline: 
  • Internship program will run from April 2026 – August 2026 

The ideal candidate will have the following attributes.
  • Customer Service mindset while at games, in the office and at events
  • Strong communication skills
  • Self-starter who takes initiative
  • An open mind and willingness to learn
  • Works with enthusiasm, dedication, and pride
  • Strong ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment

  As an intern your responsibilities may include the following: 
  • Attend all home games of the Greensboro Groove. (17 Home Games, plus Playoff Games)
  • Assist with the set up and tear-down preparation on game days.
  • Assist in the execution of theme nights and promotions.
  • Assist with performance groups including anthem singers, color guards, intermission acts and other on-court activities. 
  • Manage the DASH auction tables throughout the game.
  • Sell 50/50 raffle during the game. 
  • Manage the merchandise booth at games, while keeping inventory and restocking. 
  • Assist with off-site Season Ticket Member events and community events.
  • Attend office hours during the week to gain experience in ticket sales, corporate fulfillment, business administration, and more.
  • Attend Events as the Groove Mascot
  • Other duties assigned

   Internship Requirements
  • Working towards a four-year college degree, graduate degree or recent graduate in Marketing, Business Administration, or Sports Management
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, & Outlook)
  • Strong professional attitude
  • Experience in the sports industry preferred
  • Available to work every home game

 Compensation:
This is a non-paid internship. If an intern needs school credit, they can receive hours.
