The Ghost Pirates Ice Cove’s goal is to create transformational experiences for hockey players and their families in a fun, safe and positive learning environment. Our staff is committed to providing beginners to experienced players with age-appropriate elite programming while creating lifelong memories and friendships. We strive to grow the sport of ice hockey in the region and seek to positively impact the Port Wentworth/Savannah community and hockey world.

Role - We are looking for a Youth Hockey Director that wants to give back to the game, be a role model for our coaches, players and families and implement the Zawyer sports mission, vision and values.

Scope of Work

●      Lead and grow all hockey programming and overseeing the full development pathway from Learn to Play through Recreational, Travel, High School, and beyond.
●      Establish a unified hockey culture aligned with Zawyer Sports values that prioritizes athlete development, character, and a positive rink environment.
●      Recruit, mentor, and manage coaches and volunteers, setting clear expectations to deliver consistent, athlete-centered development.
●      Oversee program operations and scheduling to maximize ice utilization and deliver high-quality programming, leagues, camps, and tournaments.
●      Drive program growth and financial sustainability by managing budgets and creating new initiatives that expand participation.
●      Strengthen community partnerships with USA Hockey, Southern Amateur Hockey Association, local schools, and the Savannah Ghost Pirates to grow the game and connect youth hockey with the pro team.

Requirements when hired

●        Background Check cleared 
●        Safesport Certified
●        Positive Coaching Alliance
●        USA Hockey Certification

Recommendations 

●        Experience playing ice hockey and coaching 5+ years
●        Understanding of USA Hockey, American Development Model (ADM)
●        Experience working with children (or adults if applicable) 

Ability to work nights, weekends and travel.
