2025 – 2026 Season Internship
The Charlotte Checkers are seeking creative and driven Videography and Photography Interns for the 2025–2026 season. This position is a hands-on opportunity to gain experience in sports video production, storytelling, and live event content creation. Interns will play a key role in showcasing the Checkers brand across multiple platforms. All applications will be kept on file until the start of the internship program each candidate applied for.



Position Overview:
The Videography and Photography Interns will work with the Content and Marketing teams to produce compelling video content for digital, in-game, and broadcast use. This includes filming, editing, and archiving footage, creating hype videos, sponsor activations, community highlights, and more.
Interns will also support game day production elements including video board content, live filming, and in-game clips.
Interns may also assist in game day social media content. 



Timeline:

Internship Duration: End of September 2025 – April 2026 (or end of playoffs)

The Ideal Videography Candidate Will Have:

  • A strong demo reel or portfolio showcasing video editing and shooting
  • Experience with Adobe Premiere Pro (After Effects a plus)
  • A passion for sports storytelling and content creation
  • Creative thinking with a strong eye for composition and pacing
  • Comfortable using DSLR cameras or camcorders
  • A strong sense of urgency and ability to meet deadlines
  • Willingness to take direction and collaborate with a team

As a Videography Intern, Your Responsibilities May Include:

  • Shoot and edit hype videos, player interviews, and behind-the-scenes content
  • Create in-game features for the video board (ex. crowd prompts, promotions)
  • Film community events and produce recap videos
  • Support live footage capture during home games
  • Assist with video board and in-arena presentation on game nights
  • Archive and organize digital footage
  • Assist with marketing video needs and social media edits
  • Other duties as assigned

The Ideal Photography Candidate Will Have:

  • A portfolio demonstrating experience in photography (event, sports, or lifestyle)
  • Familiarity with DSLR or mirrorless cameras
  • A creative eye for storytelling and composition
  • Working knowledge of Lightroom and/or Photoshop
  • The ability to work in fast-paced environments
  • Strong communication and time management skills
  • A positive, team-first attitude and professional appearance


As a Photography Intern, Your Responsibilities May Include:

  • Photographing home games, including fan interactions, theme nights, and key in-game moments
  • Capturing community events, promotional appearances, and team-related functions
  • Organizing and editing photos for use on social media, digital platforms, and marketing materials
  • Assisting with digital asset management and archiving
  • Supporting pre-game setup and post-game breakdown
  • Other duties as assigned

Internship Requirements:

  • Working toward or recently completed a degree in Film, Photography, Broadcast, Digital Media, or a related field
  • Access to housing and transportation in the Charlotte area
  • Personal photography equipment preferred
  • Proficiency in basic photo editing software
  • Ability to deliver high-quality work under deadlines
  • Proficiency with Adobe Premiere Pro (After Effects, Photoshop a bonus)
  • Experience with camera equipment and file management
  • Available to work majority of home games and flexible availability for select weekday office hours

Compensation:

This is a non-paid internship. Interns may earn school credit if applicable.
