The Charlotte Checkers are seeking a creative, motivated, and passionate Videography Intern for the 2026-27 season. This hands-on opportunity provides valuable experience within a premier AHL hockey organization and is ideal for students or recent graduates looking to build a portfolio in sports videography, video production, editing, and digital content creation.

Timeline: September 2026 – April 2027 (or at the completion of Playoffs)

Position Overview
The Videography Intern will work closely with the Creative Services and Partnership Activation teams to capture, produce, and edit engaging video content throughout the season. This role will assist in creating short-form social content, hype videos, player features, highlights, promotional campaigns, sponsorship proof of performance content, and other video assets used throughout the season.

From game nights and practices to community events, player features, and special promotions, this internship offers a unique opportunity to gain real-world experience in professional sports video production, storytelling, and digital marketing.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have
  • Experience in videography, video production, or digital media
  • A portfolio demonstrating creative video work and editing
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Premiere Pro and After Effects
  • Understanding of camera operation, composition, lighting, audio, and video editing
  • Strong understanding of social media platforms and short-form video trends
  • Excellent attention to detail and creative storytelling abilities
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects
  • Strong communication, organizational, and time-management skills
  • A positive attitude and willingness to collaborate as part of a team

As a Videography Intern, Your Responsibilities May Include
  • Capturing video during home games, practices, community events, team functions, and special events
  • Producing and editing short-form social media videos, hype videos, player features, highlights, promotional campaigns, and behind-the-scenes content
  • Capturing game action, player interviews, fan experiences, entertainment, and team content
  • Creating video assets for sponsorship proof of performance and partnership activation
  • Assisting with motion graphics, animations, transitions, and other visual effects
  • Supporting video content for in-arena displays, digital platforms, social media, and marketing campaigns
  • Assisting with interviews, including camera setup, lighting, audio, and production
  • Organizing, labeling, archiving, and maintaining digital video assets
  • Supporting content planning and execution across digital platforms
  • Assisting with live event production and game-day entertainment elements
  • Collaborating with staff to ensure consistent brand messaging and visual identity
  • Other duties as assigned

Internship Requirements
  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Video Production, Digital Media, Communications, Film, Marketing, Graphic Design, or a related field
  • Housing and transportation in Charlotte or the surrounding area
  • Availability to work home games, select road games, and designated office hours
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite or equivalent creative software
  • Ability to meet deadlines while maintaining high-quality creative standards
  • Personal camera equipment and/or laptop preferred but not required

Compensation
This is a non-paid internship. School credit may be earned if applicable.
