Background on the club:
Forward Madison FC is a men’s American professional soccer club based in Madison, Wisconsin. They compete in USL League One, the third division of the American soccer pyramid. They are one of the top quartile teams in their division for their business culture.  Founded in 2018, the club is owned and operated by Big Top Sports and Entertainment, which also manages historic Breese Stevens Field – host venue of 2 USL teams including the Forward Madison FC and its 2026 debut women’s team in the USL Super League, called Rally Madison FC. Additionally, Big Top Sports and Entertainment and Breese Stevens Field hosts concerts and an Ultimate Frisbee team.  In other words, we manage the facility where our teams play.  Seating is up 10,000.   One side of the stadium for sporting events is all premium and suite seating.

Forward Madison seeks a Vice President, Premium Sales. The position reports directly to the Chief Operating Officer, an owner of the club and well-known sports business executive. This role is primarily responsible for the sale of premium seating at Breese Stevens Field for all our events and concerts. This includes premium seating such as suites and loge boxes which are often purchased by companies, organizations and high net worth individuals. While this position is primarily focused on corporate ticket sales, there will be some additional bonus opportunities for sponsorship sales.

What you will do:

  •  Contact, schedule, and conduct virtual, in-person and phone presentations with appropriate decision makers within targeted accounts.
  •  Meet and exceed all weekly, monthly, and annual sales, phone, and appointment goals set by the Chief Operating Officer to help you meet your sales goals and commission potential.
  •  Coordinate and execute all sales calls on all potential customers through provided leads, prospecting, cold calling, and referrals.
  • Effectively use our CRM to maintain accurate records of all client and prospect interactions.
  • Effectively use the ticketing platform to describe and select inventory.
  • Participate and contribute in weekly sales meetings and training sessions.
  • Act as a role model for and assist teammates as necessary.
  • Attend games to support all game-night activities including visits to suites/seats, entertaining prospects, and complaint resolution.
  • Join clubs and attend special events in the city as well as other live lead generating opportunities.
  • Participate in special projects/project team(s) as assigned to support department objectives.
  •  Work cross-functionally with departments (Analytics, Ticket Operations, Marketing, Game Presentation, Events, Sales, Partnerships, PR, Arena Guest Services, Security) to seamlessly execute and grow premium ticket sates business opportunities.  And other duties as assigned.

What we are looking for?
(We’re in the sports business; we’re looking for those same skills as the top athletes we promote, though in the world of business!) 

  • Seasoned sales professional with 3+ years of experience, preferably in the sports or hospitality industries, and preferably in premium ticket sales or sponsorships sales.
  • A record of consistently achieving and surpassing revenue targets.
  • Experience selling a premium product to B2B clients and senior decision makers.
  • Outstanding and energetic customer service with excellent communication skills. 
  • Experience delivering face-to-face presentations and selling events.
  • Great time management, organizational skills as well as being self-motivated to succeed.
  • Solid executive presence with strong verbal and written communication skills.  
  • Ability to attend the majority of Forward Madison and Rally Madison FC home games and concerts (i.e., nights, weekends, and holidays) to drive business relationships. 
  • Use of a personal vehicle to attend offsite meetings with clients and prospects.
