GENERAL MANAGER

This is an opportunity to lead one of the historic Independent baseball franchises located in the Midwest. The ideal candidate will have prior Executive level/Leadership experience within Minor League Baseball (or equivalent industry). Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage sales and operations of the team and stadium. The GM has oversight of a 50+member staff (sales team, box office, operations, manager, coaches, trainer, clubhouse manager, players, game day staff, concession management and interns) with direct supervision of all departments within the organization prior to and during all home games and during the off-season.
- Drive corporate and ticket sales with expectations to meet annual budgets.
- Develop contacts in the area while also using networking skills to attract new sales clients and utlize contacts to create trade partnerships to reduce company expenses.
- The GM is directly responsible for company finances including but not limited to bank reconciliaton, payroll, profit/loss statements, accounts payable and receivable processing to assure all vendor payments are made prior to due date. The GM shall be supported by outside accounting
- Serve as team spokesperson with area media outlets and local service organizations.
- Serve as company liaison/point of contact with the City and League, while building strong working relationship with both parties. Utilize customer service, public and community relation skills to develop successful business and community relationships with business partners and our fans at each and every game and throughout the community.
- Management and oversight of all stadium improvements with City and all contractors.
- Coordinate all team logistics including bus transportation load and depart times for each road trip with bus company per preferred times of coaching staff. Coordinate all hotel stays.
- Assist in execution of player contracts and management of the salary cap.
- Assist team manager with player travel arrangements and housing needs leading up to and throughout the season
- Negotiate and serve as team purchasing agent for: merchandise for the team shop; all promotional giveaway items; items for the team (uniforms, helmets, bags, bats, etc.); all printed promotional materials to assure organization is receiving the best price and the best quality while assuring all items arrive on time from all vendors.
- Manage, motivate, monitor and train all full time and game day employees while provide them with the necessary tools to serve our clients and fans during every home game.
