 We are hosting an exclusive, invite-only Minor League Sports Virtual Career Fair. Invitees will have the opportunity to meet and hear from  top executives in Minor League Sports as they talk about creative fan promotions, marketing and the multi-faceted aspect of working in the minor league. You will also have the opportunity to network with hiring managers and put yourself in a good position to earn an entry level role in Ticket Sales & Service.

Minor League teams are well-known for their fun and creative cultures, where everyone rolls up their sleeves and does more than just what’s written on their job description.  Now is your turn to “try out” and see if you have what it takes to join the team.

Teams are looking for candidates starting in January 2022 who can extend their brands into the community and help build excitement with their fans. If you have a fun personality, know how to tell a great story, and enjoy meeting new people, a Ticket Sales & Service is a great fit for you.  This role will give you that experience, and so much more. Upon acceptance into this career fair, all finalists will take part in the following events.

Event Details:
Each event day will start with a virtual panel discussion featuring key players in Minor League Sports followed by networking with the selected candidates.

Monday, November 8th- 12 PM EST- 1:30 PM EST 
  • Prep Session with TeamWork Online Founder and President, Buffy Filippell.   Learn "best practices" for networking, following up, and how to present yourself to employers.

Tuesday November 9th - 12 PM EST - 3 PM EST

Preferred Attendee Qualifications
Attendees ought to successfully demonstrate in their applications: (1) a passion for working on the business side of sports, (2) a strong work ethic, (3) persistence in the face of obstacles, (4) a passion for learning, and (5) coachability and an openness to feedback. Candidates who are athletes, had internships with a sports team, worked retail sales, or sports inside sales, have a leg up.  You ought to have a 1) compelling story in your cover letter 2) Strong video 3) Name and email address of a professional reference.
Here's how you present yourself as best as possible for the Minor League Sports Virtual Career Fair:
  1. Click Apply Now and log into your TeamWork Online account.  If you do not have an account, please click Sign Up in order to create your profile. 
  2. Make sure you have included a current and professional profile picture, and have filled out your profile completely - headline, LinkedIn profile, education, experience, clubs (list the sports you’ve done in high school) etc. 
    1. Your headline should include: 1) Your graduation year and university/program you attend, 2) HS/College Athlete, and 3) Organizations you have worked for and 2 skills you have done/want to do again. (Example: 2021 Temple University, Sport & Recreation Management, Baltimore Orioles, Philadelphia Wings Lacrosse, Community Relations, Events, Sales)
  3. In the Cover Letter section, please briefly describe yourself and why you are right for a position in minor league sports

Ticket Sales and Service teams are the heartbeat of the front office of a team.  They are tasked with building enthusiasm for their team and engaging the community through ticket sales.
This isn’t the job for someone who simply wants to be in sports. This is the job for the person who wants to start a career, who wants to learn how to be great, enjoys meeting and talking with people, and who is driven to be a leader.
If you are an athlete, were quick to raise your hand in class, and are the “planner” for your group of friends, this is a role that you should apply to.

Common Duties/Responsibilities of a Ticket Sales Representative: 
  • Responsible for sales of Season tickets, Partial Plans, Group Outings, Theme Nights, Suite, and/or hospitality areas. 
  • Generate new leads and research new and creative ways to sell tickets. 
  • Provide excellent customer service to all existing and potential clientele.
  • Professionally represent the organization at business and community functions.
  • Make a high volume of phone calls and client touch points
  • Attend and participate in sales and service trainings
  • Communicate with customers and leads to identify and understand their product or service needs
Required Abilities:
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills, time management skills, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
