Position Summary
A Midwest Minor League Sports Venue is seeking an experienced and dynamic Director of Food & Beverage to lead all culinary and beverage operations at our facility. This executive-level role will be responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive F&B strategy that enhances the fan experience, drives revenue growth, and maintains the highest standards of quality, safety, and operational efficiency across all concessions, premium areas, catering, and special events. The Director will oversee all aspects from menu development and financial management to team leadership and vendor relations, ensuring a memorable and seamless experience for all guests.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement innovative food and beverage strategies, including menu design, pricing, and service standards, to elevate the fan experience and align with team branding.
- Oversee all F&B operations, including concessions, suites, catering, beer gardens, and special events, ensuring exceptional service and product quality.
- Manage comprehensive F&B budgets, financial targets, and P&L statements, implementing effective cost control measures and driving revenue growth.
- Negotiate, manage, and cultivate strong relationships with vendors, suppliers, and local partners to ensure quality products, competitive pricing, and reliable service.
- Ensure strict compliance with all food safety regulations, alcohol service laws (e.g., TIPS/ABC certification), health codes, and other relevant local, state, and federal guidelines.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing F&B team, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance management for managers, supervisors, and seasonal staff.
- Optimize operational efficiency through effective inventory management, waste reduction strategies, and streamlined service processes.
- Collaborate closely with the General Manager and ownership to align F&B initiatives with overall organizational goals, revenue objectives, and brand standards.
- Analyze sales data, fan feedback, and market trends to continually refine offerings and improve the guest experience.
- Oversee equipment maintenance, cleanliness standards, and overall presentation of all F&B outlets.
- Approve payroll submissions, manage staffing levels, and process vendor invoices accurately and timely.
Desired Qualifications
- Preferred Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent progressive professional experience.
- Prior leadership experience in food and beverage operations,
- Prior experience in a director or senior management role within a high-volume sports venue, arena, stadium, or large-scale entertainment facility.
- Proven track record of managing P&L, achieving financial targets, and implementing successful cost control measures.
- Extensive knowledge of food safety regulations, alcohol service laws (e.g., TIPS/ABC certification), and health codes.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire, motivate, and develop a diverse team.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, capable of building strong relationships with staff, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to develop innovative menus, enhance guest experience, and adapt to evolving market trends.
- Proficiency in F&B management systems, inventory software, and standard office applications.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as dictated by event schedules.
- Experience in minor league sports or similar sports/entertainment environment highly preferred.
