The Role and What You’ll Do:
This new role sits in our WME golf team, which was previously IMG Golf, who have managed more Major winners, on any Tour, than any other agency. IMG Golf’s legacy is well-known, having been founded on a handshake between Mark McCormack and Arnold Palmer. The position is ideal for an APAC based individual.
Responsibilities:
Oversee all WME Golf’s interests throughout Asia, Australia and New Zealand, serving as the face of the group in the APAC region
Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, tours, governing bodies, brands, equipment companies and other key stakeholders
Manage 3-person golf leadership team in the APAC region
Identify, evaluate and recruit promising golf talent to the agency, working in collaboration with the global team.
Assists in client service, partnership management, general relationship development, and project coordination.
Develop, manage and nurture new business partnerships to accomplish revenue goals.
Ability to handle client agreements, travel and additional responsibilities of client services.
Act as a representative for a client when negotiating a new contract, contract extensions, or endorsement signings.
Work closely with existing agents to explore and capitalize on client marketing opportunities.
Able to work across various lines of businesses and agents to present opportunities to our existing client roster.
Supporting key golf executives as needed as the key account back up and day-to-day on a variety of client services, can include administrative and financial book-keeping.
Originate, direct, develop and implement marketing schemes, methods, and strategies through the use of our existing client roster.
Works on strategies, programs and insights for long-term client projects.
You Have These:
10+ years of experience in golf industry (agencies, governing bodies, or other related work)
Fluency in English is required; fluency in Japanese, Mandarin or Korean is a plus
Strong global and regional relationships with senior level executives across brands, agencies and golf-specific organizations (Federations, Tours, governing bodies, Universities)
Proven experience leading and negotiating marketing, sponsorship or endorsement agreements
Must have strategic agility, organizational ability, and successful track record for building effective relationships
Broad knowledge of marketing, sales principles and practices, in sports and entertainment
Effective communicator who has proven selling and relationship skills with internal and external constituents at all levels, including understanding of building client-facing marketing materials
