WME Group seeks a talented and highly motivated junior lawyer to join its business and legal affairs team, primarily supporting WME's Motion Picture, Talent, and WME Independent Film Departments.

Responsibilities

  • Reviewing, redlining, and negotiating contracts under tight deadlines, including endorsement, appearance, license and other image-rights and personal-services agreements
  • Implementing and refining systems for information and document-management
  • Fostering positive long-term relationships with the company’s clients and customers
  • Manage and update our database of precedent used for various agreements
  • Manage the grids, checklists and forms used by the business affairs group
  • Support the Motion Picture Business Affairs team by handing special projects and requests when assigned.

Qualifications

  • JD from an ABA-accredited law school
  • Admitted to CA Bar (or another state bar permissible under CA in-house counsel rules)
  • 1-3+ year(s) of transactional legal/business affairs experience
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to interact with a range of personalities and styles in a fast-paced environment
  • Outstanding drafting, analytical, and organizational skills
  • A curious mind, a strong work ethic, and a creative but practical approach to problem-solving
  • Knowledge of motion picture and talent preferred, but not required
  • Required to work in-office

Per local requirements and in the interest of transparency, the rate shown below reflects the prevalent current hiring range for this position. Hiring pay rates are based on a number of factors, including location and may vary depending on job-related qualifications, knowledge, skills and experience. Hiring Rate Minimum:

$75,000 annually (minimum will not fall below the applicable state/local minimum salary thresholds)

Hiring Rate Maximum:

$100,000 annually
