Job Title: Product Manager - PlayerFirst Technology (PFT)
Employment Type: Full-time
Location: Mostly Remote with 1-2 onsite days/week in Glenview, IL / Applicants currently LOCAL to the Greater Chicago Area will ONLY be considered
Travel: Occasional travel to our sites and events
 
Position Overview
 
3STEP Sports is seeking a full lifecycle Product Manager to support and evolve our proprietary technology platform, PlayerFirst Tech (PFT). This role sits at the intersection of product strategy and execution, owning both the what and why of product development as well as the how and when of delivery.

You will play a critical role in shaping the roadmap for data integrations and system integrity, while also driving day-to-day execution through sprint planning, ticket creation, and cross-functional coordination. This is an opportunity to impact an industry-leading application used by tens of thousands of athletes and families every day.

Key Responsibilities 
 
Product Strategy & Ownership
  • Own product direction for all external and internal data integrations, including commerce partnerships
  • Champion data quality, system integrity, and scalability across the platform
  • Define and manage the data integration roadmap, aligning with company goals and customer needs 
  • Gather, document, and prioritize product and data requirements
  • Partner with stakeholders to ensure product decisions drive measurable business outcomes 
  • Monitor market trends and competitive landscape to inform product evolution 
  • Track and evaluate product performance metrics to guide improvements 
Execution & Delivery Management
  • Translate product requirements into clear, actionable user stories and technical tickets
  • Own and manage the product backlog, ensuring priorities are well-defined and up to date 
  • Lead or support sprint planning, standups, and backlog grooming sessions
  • Develop and maintain project timelines and release plans, ensuring on-time delivery 
  • Proactively identify risks, dependencies, and blockers, and drive resolution 
  • Act as the primary liaison between product, engineering, and other teams to ensure alignment and execution 
  • Ensure high-quality releases through collaboration on testing, QA, and acceptance criteria 
Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Work closely with engineering, data, QA, operations, and customer success teams 
  • Gather and synthesize customer feedback to inform product decisions 
  • Communicate product updates, timelines, and priorities to both technical and non-technical stakeholders 
  • Help align teams around shared goals, priorities, and delivery expectations 
 
Requirements
●     BS/BA degree preferred
●     3-7 years of experience in:
         Product Management for UI/UX-driven software applications
         Agile development environments with hands-on execution responsibilities 
  • Proven ability to:
       Own and communicate a product roadmap
       Write detailed user stories and technical tickets
       Manage timelines, sprints, and cross-team dependencies
       Prioritize features based on business value and user impact 
       Bridge the gap between user needs and technical implementation 
  • Strong understanding of software development across mobile, web, and backend systems (preferred) 
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills 
  • Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, collaborative, and execution-focused environment
