Position Summary
The Systems Administrator is responsible for the administration, reliability, and security of Tepper Sports & Entertainment’s server, virtualization, and cloud environments. This role focuses heavily on virtualized infrastructure, Azure-based services, identity management through Entra ID, and enterprise backup and recovery operations.

The Systems Administrator works closely with infrastructure, network, cybersecurity, and helpdesk teams to ensure systems are resilient, well-documented, and capable of supporting both day-to-day operations and high-profile live events.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Administers and maintains on-premises and cloud-based systems, with a strong focus on virtual machine environments.
  • Supports AI compute and storage platforms, including GPU servers and high‑performance storage, ensuring availability, performance, capacity planning, and secure operations across production and development environments.
  • Manages virtualization platforms, ensuring availability, performance, capacity planning, and lifecycle management of VMs.
  • Oversees data backup, recovery, and retention processes, including monitoring job success, testing restores, and maintaining disaster recovery readiness.
  • Administers Azure infrastructure and services, including virtual machines, storage, networking integrations, and security configurations.
  • Manages identity and access through Microsoft Entra ID, including user lifecycle management, role-based access, and integration with on-prem systems.
  • Monitors system performance, availability, and alerts; proactively identifies and resolves issues.
  • Implements and maintains system hardening, patching, and configuration standards in alignment with security policies.
  • Collaborates with cybersecurity teams to support secure system configurations, logging, and incident response.
  • Supports infrastructure projects by providing system-level expertise and hands-on implementation.
  • Develops and maintains system documentation, runbooks, and recovery procedures.
  • Participates in on-call rotation and supports after-hours maintenance or event-driven operational needs.
 
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in a systems administration role.
  • Hands-on experience managing virtual machine environments (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V, or equivalent).
  • Strong experience with Microsoft Azure services and administration.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD), identity lifecycle management, and access controls.
  • Experience administering enterprise backup and recovery solutions.
  • Familiarity with Windows Server environments; Linux experience is a plus.
  • Relevant certifications (Azure Administrator, VMware, or similar) preferred.

  • Ability to troubleshoot complex system issues across on-prem and cloud platforms.
  • Strong documentation and operational discipline.
  • Effective collaboration with cross-functional technical teams.
 
Work Environment
  • This job operates in a professional office environment, and will require work at stadium events, as mentioned above, on nights, weekends, and holidays. It may also require travel to off-site partnership events.
  • Work is mixed between an office and desk environment, and user or equipment locations throughout the stadium and other satellite properties.
  • Work from home using personally provided Internet and availability via personal cell phone may be required during urgent incidents.
  • Work may require leaving the facility at times to pick up equipment or attend out of town training.
  • Work may include sitting at a desk or computer for long periods of time.
  • Bending, standing, reaching, kneeling, and lifting technology equipment may be required.
  • Lifting 60 pounds, working on a ladder, using power tools, and performing other facility maintenance functions related to technology infrastructure may be required.
  • Walking throughout the facility, sometimes for an extended period, may be required.
  • Driving between TSE facilities may be required.
