Position Summary
This role leads daily execution of operational plans and procedures for all sporting fields at the facilities operated by Tepper Sports and Entertainment, including the Carolina Panthers Practice facility and Bank of America Stadium. 

Primary Responsibilities
  • Ensure league compliance with NFL Field of Play Standards and mandatory practices through testing and recordkeeping.
  • Supervise and execute alongside team of Coordinators, and Part time staff for daily maintenance and field preparation.
  • Collaborate with manager to execute Agronomic, BMP, and IPM programs.
  • Obtain and maintain a NCDOA Pesticide applicator's license and certification credits.
  • Execute daily schedule, layout, painting, and conversions for the Carolina Panthers and all practice events. 
  • Communicate and oversee all daily operational plans, goals, and special projects set by the Manager.
  • Implement cultural practices and maintenance programs; lead staff in exercising best management practices.
  • Report accurate records of Agronomic plans, BMP programs, op-ex budget, inventory, safety data, equipment, and materials.
  • Execute an established inclement weather plan to ensure player safety and operational readiness across properties.
  • Inspect and report weekly conditions of Carolina Panthers Practice Facility Landscape to Director.
  • Inspect and report daily field conditions to Manager.
  • Maintain safe, organized, and functional work areas for staff.
  • Other duties assigned. 
 
Minimum Qualifications
  • 3-5+ Years Experience in the Turfgrass Management Industry.
  • Experience leading teams and projects supporting sports field operations.
  • Ability to execute Agronomic, Best Management, IPM Plans.
  • Ability to execute multi-Sport field painting, field layout and measurement, and event preparation.
  • Experience pesticide and fertilizer calibration and application; ability to instruct staff.
  • Experience operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting field equipment.
  • Knowledge of Sports Field Management, cultural practices and Design.
  • Must obtain and maintain a NC Pesticide applicator’s license within one year.
  • Ability to operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair irrigation systems with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work in the evenings, weekends, and event schedules, including Carolina Panther games.
  • Ability to pass pre-employment screens and background checks.
 
 Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s or associate’s degree in Turfgrass Science, Agronomy, or a related field or equivalent experience.

Physical Requirements
  • Standing, bending, and walking for extended periods of time.
  • Computer-based desk work.
  • Ability to lift at least 50 pounds.

  • Operation of hand tools and equipment.
 
Work Environment
  • This position operates primarily outdoors and occasionally within a stadium environment, sometimes in inclement weather. This role is fast paced, with schedules that are subject to change.
