Position Summary
Tepper Sports & Entertainment is looking for a seasoned Senior Commodity Manager  with 8+ years cost reduction program/ initiative implementation + demonstrated project management. Hands-on experience leading procurement within multiple commodities including Travel, IT Software & Hardware, Policy creation/stabilization, Card programs, Marketing. Skilled executer with excellent communication skills.
 
Primary Responsibilities
  • Work closely with department stakeholders to enhance and/or implement commodity strategies: improving cost, supplier engagement, and agreement terms.
  • Lead supplier negotiations and assist management throughout the organization in decision making relative to the request/ supplier selection at hand.
  • Lead Cross-functional teams as required on the following processes:
    • Strategic Sourcing - Lead the strategic sourcing process including RFQ development, quotation reviews, supplier/contract negotiations and supplier development. Lead sourcing meetings with Marketing, IT, Facilities, Business Analytics, Finance, etc., as needed, to reach consensus on sourcing.
    • Negotiations - Act as the lead negotiator with suppliers in specific commodities to deliver stated objectives. Expectation that cost is a top priority, and each agreement should be negotiated to the best of our ability while also working closely with the Sponsorship team.
    • Supplier Development - Work with Marketing, IT, Facilities, Business Analytics, Finance and other support departments to develop new suppliers with systems to support company needs, reduced cost, and high quality/ service level satisfaction.
    • Supplier Management – Develop working relationship with Suppliers. Establish lines of communication with suppliers to ensure proactive notification of any exception status. Support the implementation of Master Services Agreements/ Service Level Agreement (MSA/ SLA), Statement of Work (SOW), Temp Agency Agreements, as applicable. Throughout stakeholder engagement insert procurement best practices and process to ensure that existing processes are targeted to attain excellence versus industry benchmarks.
  • Model and promote TSE leadership standards to create an environment that mobilizes empowered people to achieve business goals.
  • Support Procurement policy implementation, training, and stabilization.
  • Preparation of RFP/RFQ’s for all segments, negotiation and re-negotiation of quotes. Initiates, negotiates and maintains contracts in collaboration with key stakeholders and in-house legal counsel.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and Cross-Functional Teams to support continuous improvement projects & new programs to ensure Corporate and team goals are met.
  • Compliance: As new process and procedures are implemented at TSE, support stakeholders through policy adherence and change management. Train stakeholders/ team members as required.
  • Purchase Order Processing – Place purchase orders as required to meet the requirements of internal stakeholders.
  • Lead projects and cost reduction initiatives as aligned with the Procurement goals.
  • Advocate for Procure to Pay best practices and PO processing in order to control spend and ensure spend is properly approved following the Delegation of Authority (DOA).
 
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Finance, Engineering, or relevant field
  • At least 8 years of relevant work experience in global manufacturing companies with increasing responsibilities in a multi-site, multi-product company.
  • Proficient skills with Microsoft Office suite - Excel, PowerPoint expertise required.
  • Working knowledge of ERP and/or P2P platforms required.
  • Seasoned negotiator with demonstrated experience in executing supplier resourcing and cost reduction initiatives
  • Ability to work extended hours and/or weekends as needed by deadlines and event scheduling
  • Must be able to handle confidential, privileged, and/or sensitive information with care and sensitivity
  • Ability to make sound decisions and exercise independent judgement and discretion with integrity and accountability, while working in a fast-paced, high-demand, and sometimes strenuous environment
  • Must pass pre-employment screens
 
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in business or a technical field
  • Professional certification from ISM and/or APICS.

Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment (mostly office environment, outside in a stadium facility at times which may include inclement weather conditions).
