Position Summary
The Marketing Activation & Events Coordinator will play a critical part in the planning and execution of non-matchday events to engage our fan base at large across the Carolinas, along with delivering the best-in-class atmosphere on matchdays. This role will serve as a project management lead who helps drive a variety of projects and events from ideation to execution, ensuring efficient processes along the way via cross-functional collaboration. The Marketing Activation & Events Coordinator will also play an active role in developing the event and influencer marketing strategies for the Club. Charlotte Football Club is seeking a highly motivated, hyper-organized, innovative individual who has experience in the fan engagement/event management field.
 
Primary Responsibilities
  • Lead the planning and execution of assigned club-owned events and fan development activations to build fan-centric experiences that drive engagement, optimize lead generation, integrate partners, promote ticket sales, build fan loyalty, and expand the Club’s reach.
  • Support the planning and execution of large-scale, club-owned brand events.
  • Assist in the management of the club-wide event calendar.
  • Lead the planning and execution of viewing parties, in collaboration with the Partnerships Marketing team.
  • Lead assigned matchday fan experience marketing initiatives and provide support for others, including pre-match/post-match activations and events, and gate giveaway planning and distribution.
  • Compile, compose and circulate event and matchday schedules and recaps.
  • Collaborate with the Partnerships Marketing team to execute the official Bar Network program.
  •  Support the Grassroots Marketing & Fan Engagement team to drive influencer campaigns and activations around our events and matches.
  • Assist with management of interns and their daily roles and responsibilities.
  • Assist Grassroots Marketing team with the execution of grassroots activations and initiatives designed to drive brand awareness and grow the fan base.
  • Work alongside Marketing team to support marketing efforts and assist with collaborating on social campaigns, email marketing messaging, ticket sales promotions, and building the gameday experience.
  • Assist with day-to-day planning and project management of all programs and events.
  • Work across multiple internal departments to help execute initiatives and events.
  • Responsible for building and maintaining cross-departmental relationships.
  • Work with internal clients to drive campaign performance from ideation to execution.
  • Create and manage project plans and timelines to deliver marketing campaigns on time.
  • Track and record metrics throughout all campaigns.
  • Grow fan affinity & fan sentiment; Deliver talked about events & experiences across the enterprise both on gameday / match day and year-round.
  • Evolve existing and create new products, services & benefits that fans value.
  • Grow the brand regionally, nationally, and globally & ultimately become one of the most loved brands in sports.
  • Additional related duties as assigned.
 
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, sport management, events, or a related field required.
  • 2-3 years of marketing or events experience.
  • Must have a valid US Driver’s license.
  • Must pass pre-employment screens.
  • Account management, event management and client-facing experience preferred.
  • Soccer knowledge preferred.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements
  • This position operates in a professional office environment and outside in a stadium
  • facility. 
  • This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, etc. 
  • Local travel to events may be required. 
  • This position typically works a minimum of 40 hours per week.
  • Must be able to work all Charlotte FC home matches.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 30 lbs.
  • Ability to remain sitting for up to 8 hours at a desk and computer.
  • Ability to remain standing/walking for up to 8 hours.
  • Ability to climb stairs.
  • Ability to work both indoors and outdoors, and endure weather conditions, including rain, wind, high and low temperatures, etc.
  • Must be able to work in non-traditional settings, and work non-traditional hours including nights, weekends, and holidays.
