Summary Description
The Education Coordinator is responsible for creation, implementation and support of all youth education programing efforts and messaging with a focus on K-3 literacy.  Additionally, the coordinator will serve as a liaison with key education stakeholders/ partner agencies in the two-state region.
 
Primary Responsibilities
  • Develop strategic vision for education outreach efforts in partnership with the Director of Community Relations.
  • Lead the development and implementation of education outreach programs
  • Actively maintain/develop new relationships with education partners and understand current affairs in education
  • Expand/ develop new education programs as needed
  • Maintain database of education contacts including, but not limited to, Classroom Central, North Carolina Department of Public instruction, South Carolina Department of Education, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools and related school districts, Scripps and Everfi.
  • Program assessment and goalsetting
  • Develop education-specific website content
  • Responsible for ensuring education programs, which include sponsor elements, reach fulfillment
  • Activate game day elements as needed
  • Support other community relations outreach efforts as needed
  • Other tasks as assigned

Qualifications and Education Requirements
  • Degree in Education or a related field
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in community relations, education or project/event management 
  • Experience in youth programs, specifically related to education
  • Must have a valid driver’s license
  • Must pass pre-employment screens
 
Physical Requirements
  • Standing for extended periods of time
  • Sitting and working at desk on a computer
  • Walking throughout the stadium which may include stairs
  • Lift at least 30 pounds
 
Work Environment
This job operates mostly in an office environment and outside in a stadium facility at times which may include inclement weather conditions.  Job may require local travel to events and appearances.
