The San Antonio Spurs are seeking a Team Operations Specialist – Equipment to support the day-to-day equipment and operational needs of our players, coaches and Basketball Operations staff. This position will play an important role in ensuring the team is fully prepared for practices, games, travel and other basketball activities. The Team Operations Specialist will coordinate equipment and apparel operations, support the daily readiness of Victory Capital Performance Center and provide supervision, training and guidance to team attendants. The ideal candidate is highly organized, service-oriented and comfortable working in a fast-paced professional sports environment where schedules and priorities can change quickly.
What You’ll Do:
- Coordinate daily equipment and apparel needs for players, coaches and Basketball Operations staff.
- Manage equipment ordering, inventory, distribution and preparation for practices, games and team activities.
- Maintain accurate player sizing records, equipment databases and inventory documentation.
- Coordinate equipment logistics for home games, road trips, training camp, Draft workouts, Summer League and other Basketball Operations initiatives.
- Prepare and maintain locker rooms, equipment rooms, laundry areas, storage spaces and basketball-related areas at Victory Capital Performance Center.
- Help ensure equipment, uniforms, apparel and supplies are properly prepared, packed and tracked for team travel.
- Provide ongoing supervision, training, guidance and daily work direction to team attendants. Help establish attendant schedules, communicate expectations and monitor the completion and quality of assigned work.
- Work closely with the Director of Team Operations and other equipment staff to anticipate and address team needs.
- Assist with department initiatives and special projects as assigned.
Who You Are:
- Have at least three years of experience in athletic equipment, team operations, professional sports or a related field.
- Previous experience leading or coordinating support staff in a fast-paced environment preferred.
- Highly organized and able to manage multiple responsibilities and deadlines.
- Have strong attention to detail and take pride in completing work accurately.
- Able to anticipate needs and respond calmly and effectively when priorities change.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Understand the importance of confidentiality and use sound judgment
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and comfortable working with inventory management systems.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to operate organizational vehicles as required.
- Able to lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
- Able to stand, walk, bend, reach and perform physical tasks for extended periods.
- Able to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and travel with the team as required.
