Working under the direction of the AVP of Accounting. this position is responsible for managing the company's accounting practices and policies and the preparation of its financial statements in accordance with GAAP as well as leading associated audits. This position will supervise staff, monitor the daily activities of the staff, communicate effectively with management, and provide timely information for use in overall business analysis.

  

What You’ll Do: 

  • Prepare, examine, or analyze accounting records, financial statements, or other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to reporting and procedural standards for all SS&E Franchises, as well as the Rock, including but not limited to journal entries, balance sheet recons, bank recons, fixed assets and variance to budget analysis.
  • Audit, monitor, recognize, and report any discrepancies or suspicious accounting activities by notifying necessary personnel immediately.
  • Plan and prepare budget reporting processes for all SS&E franchises, which includes upload of budget into accounting system, produce budget financial reports, review areas of concern and monthly review with cost center managers.
  • Manage general accounting staff as it relates to professional growth and development, while monitoring and assessing their work performance and providing consistent support and feedback.
  • Prepare and/or review schedules requested by 3rd party auditors or tax professionals (financial, sales tax, federal tax) as assigned and monitor external reporting to the leagues for gates receipts and sales tax processing.
  • Oversight and/or preparation of franchise league reporting.
  • Collaborates with AVP, Accounting on process improvements, automation opportunities, and policy implementation to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
  • Partners cross-functionally with business unit leaders to explain financial results, identify risks, and recommend corrective actions.

Who You Are:   

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
  • 7-10 years accounting experience-2 year’s supervisory experience preferred.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel & PowerPoint).
  • Experience with Sage Intacct and/or a like accounting software package.
  • CPA or MBA a plus excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be able to prioritize work when given multiple projects.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic team environment with all levels in the organization.

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up 15 pounds at times.
  • Frequent use of hands and fingers for typing, data entry, and handling office materials.
  • Visual acuity to review detailed financial information, spreadsheets, and reports.
  • Occasional walking, standing, or bending during meetings or access files.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple deadlines and competing priorities.
