The San Antonio Spurs Digital team develops innovative digital products designed to elevate and enhance the fan experience. The Software Engineer, Digital Products role is responsible for supporting the front-end development, maintenance, and ongoing optimization of web and mobile platforms across Spurs Sports & Entertainment properties, including Spurs.com, Austin Spurs, San Antonio FC, Spurs Give, and Spurs Sports Academy.
The ideal candidate will build and maintain fan-focused digital experiences, leveraging modern development practices to adapt to evolving technologies and user behaviors. This role will help drive performance through data-informed decision-making, continuous improvement, and experimentation to deliver engaging, high-quality user experiences across digital platforms.

NOTE: This position is not responsible for social media administration. It is primarily a front-end focused role centered on web and mobile application development, with exposure to CMS platforms, API integrations, and AI-assisted development tools. The role requires hands-on coding and programming skills to build, maintain, and troubleshoot digital assets both from scratch and within multiple CMS environments.
What You’ll Do:
- Supports the design, development, maintenance, and optimization of SS&E’s web and mobile platforms (Spurs.com and other franchise properties), with a focus on user experience, SEO, performance, and quality assurance
- Helps ensure websites and platforms are functioning properly and remain highly available, implementing best practices for monitoring, performance, security, and usability
- Collaborates with internal and external partners on feature enhancements, project objectives, technical scope, execution timelines, troubleshooting, and technical support
- Develops and maintains analytics dashboards and reporting tools to track performance, assess KPI achievement, and generate actionable insights
- Contributes ideas for continuous improvement, digital innovation, and practical application of emerging technologies, including AI-enabled tools
- Provides support and knowledge-sharing across digital product initiatives
Who You Are:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience
- 2+ years of front-end web development experience building responsive web applications (HTML, CSS, JavaScript)
- 2+ years of experience using version control systems (Git, GitHub)
- Experience working with CMS platforms (e.g., WordPress) and project management tools (e.g., Workfront)
- Proficiency with modern front-end frameworks and libraries (e.g., React, Next.js, Vue, Bootstrap)
- Experience integrating and working with APIs, including authentication and third-party services
- Experience leveraging AI-assisted development tools to build and optimize modern web applications
- Familiarity with using AI tools to improve development workflows, testing, content management, or digital product experiences
- Strong understanding of UX/UI principles, SEO best practices, and web performance optimization
- Experience supporting experimentation, iterative improvement, and performance optimization across digital products
- Familiarity with data privacy and web compliance considerations
