Spurs Sports & Entertainment (SS&E) is seeking a forward-thinking Senior Network Engineer to lead the design, implementation, and support of SS&E’s enterprise network infrastructure across multiple venues and facilities. This role requires deep technical expertise in Cisco core networking, strong troubleshooting skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with both technical teams and executive leadership

What You’ll Do: 

  • Design, implement, and maintain enterprise-grade network infrastructure such as switches, router, firewalls, and VPNs across SS&E venues including:
    • Frost Bank Center
    • Victory Capital Performance Center
    • SS&E Impact Center
    • Austin Spurs facilities
    • Additional SS&E properties and remote sites
  • Support and enhance Wi-Fi infrastructure to ensure high-performance connectivity for staff, guests, and event operations.
  • Monitor network performance and proactively troubleshoot and resolve connectivity issues, bottlenecks, and outages.
  • Lead network troubleshooting and root cause analysis for complex issues across LAN/WAN/Wi-Fi environments.
  • Collaborate with vendors and service providers for procurement, contract negotiation, and performance management.
  • Develop and maintain network documentation, diagrams, and operational procedures.
  • Ensure network security and compliance with SS&E policies and industry best practices.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers and IT staff.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels, including presenting technical concepts to non-technical executives.
  • Implement and troubleshoot cloud-hosted telephony systems.

Who You Are:    

  • 8+ years of experience in enterprise network engineering, preferably in multi-venue or sports/entertainment environments.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends during events as needed.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).

Physical Requirements: 

  • Must be able to lift, carry, and move IT equipment including servers, switches, UPS units, and other hardware up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work in environments such as equipment rooms, data closets, and arena infrastructure spaces.
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position for extended periods, including at a desk or in server rooms.
  • Ability to bend, crawl, and reach as needed for equipment installation and troubleshooting.
  • Occasional evening, weekend, and holiday availability is required to support events and critical systems.
