The Painter supports the day-to-day operations and maintenance of Spurs Sports & Entertainment facilities by performing skilled painting, finishing, repair, and surface preparation work across interior and exterior building environments. Reporting to the General Foreman and working in collaboration with the full-time Painter, this role assists in maintaining facility readiness, supporting event operations, and ensuring all work is completed in accordance with established safety standards and industry best practices.
This position performs skilled work involving paints, stains, sealers, caulking, drywall, gypsum board, and wall repair, while also assisting with event setup, operation, and teardown activities as needed.
What You’ll Do:
- Support facility readiness and day-to-day operations through painting, maintenance, and repair work across SS&E properties.
- Perform skilled labor related to painting, staining, sealing, caulking, drywall repair, and surface preparation for interior and exterior areas.
- Assist with demolition, construction, alteration, and repair of walls, partitions, ceilings, gypsum board, wooden and metal studs, and related structures.
- Maintain interior and exterior building appearance standards, including graffiti removal and touch-up work.
- Ensure surfaces are prepared and painted according to approved building color standards and specifications.
- Apply approved safety procedures and assist in maintaining compliance with departmental safety standards and preventative maintenance programs.
- Support event preparation activities including setup, operation, and teardown as assigned.
- Coordinate with Facilities Operations and other departments to support operational and event-related needs.
- Maintain tools, materials, and workspaces in a safe and organized condition.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Who You Are:
- Experience in commercial painting, facility maintenance, construction, or related field preferred.
- Working knowledge of paints, stains, sealers, and related materials required.
- Ability to work flexible and irregular hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work independently and coordinate multiple priorities
Physical Requirements;
While performing the duties of this role, the employee is regularly required to move throughout facility and event environments
The employee must be able to:
- Stand, walk, kneel, bend, and climb for extended periods.
- Lift, push, pull, and carry materials weighing up to 50 pounds on a regular basis
- Work indoors and outdoors in varying environmental conditions.
- Safely operate tools, ladders, and maintenance equipment as required.
